The view from my "office"

And as a small riposte to whose who complain endlessly about the political system in Australia. The former Stasi regional headquarters in Leipzig

Except for the information boards the hallway has been retained as it was when the regime fell in1989.

AA Flagship Lounge at MIA. Definitely not flash! The “Flagship First dining” is only for first class passengers to certain international destinations. There is a very bored maître d’ and only one customer in there! OWE should be allowed in just to make the cost worthwhile.

There was quite a queue to enter the shared Admirals Club and Flagship Lounge. The lady who checked my boarding pass told me to wait. Once I was called to the counter, there were profuse apologies that I wasn’t brought forward. Admirals Club must be a zoo! It is pretty full in here too. Quite literally a dog as well!

Definitely not QF First, but the buffet is better than the QF domestic and business class lounges. This lounge services both domestic and international. The atmosphere in QF is much better.

The Piper Heidsick champagne here is most definitely better though! 😋

Edit:
I have to apologise to AA. Definitely better than QF international business class lounges. Beef Wellington is also on the menu. It is at another counter and looks delicious! The problem is that no-one knows it’s there! Nobody reads the menus at the end of the buffet where it is notated.

Two weeks of virtually no snow.
Worst start to a season “in living memory” according to one life-long local.

Some days we we skied on bamboo grass we were that desperate.

Then 48 hours before departure, just getting out of the apartment might be a challenge.

Edit: adding this pic showing just how much accumulated on the 4WD roof overnight.

The official reading was just 31cm 🤷‍♂️
