Petersberg Citadel in Erfurt. Construction began in1665 and it was in military use under all types of regimes until 1963. It is a classic 'star' fortress.

The view from my floating “office” of West Point, Falkland Islands this afternoon. 30 knot winds. Kayaking has been cancelled, but the advance zodiac scout has advised that zodiacs will still take passengers ashore. Just very bumpy and you will get very wet, so wear all your gear!
