The view from my "office"

I’ve moved to tonight’s “office”: The Biltmore, Coral Glades. It was built in 1924-25 and opened on January 15, 1926. Being low on the food chain, I’m on the 3rd floor looking into a lovely inner courtyard and with a glimpse of the attached 19-hole golf course.

On my explorative walk, I went around part of the golf course and then to the pool area. I was told it is the second largest swimming pool in the USA. Perhaps it is the second largest hotel pool? I would think some community pools are bigger. Maybe I think every country has at least one massive pool something like that in Shepparton, Victoria, where I lived for some years.



It is only 26 degrees C, mild breeze, very pleasant. Several people obviously find this warm enough for swimming. I have to remember lots of people travel from snowy northern states to Florida for some winter sun.





There are dining tables along this colonnade area, part of a main restaurant.

Slightly OT, but just closing the loop.
This Queen originally flew for MH, bought by Kalitta Air in 2008. In 2023 it received its whitewash - prior to that was the yellow tail with subtle DHL logo, and Kalitta Air lettering along the side of the plane.

Those trees are very old, and that underpass is usually very busy. Lucky work not back in full swing yet.

Lunchtime walk reveals considerable progress.
Roadway (to right of image) is clear, and path will be by home time.
It's a 30-second diversion for pedestrians, considerably longer for vehicles, including the 420 bus.

Half the tree fell originally, obviously too much risk to leave the other half, so now it's (almost) gone.

Good skiing overall. Snow fall of 13" in the last 7 days with a 58" base. Huge influx of skiers following NY day.
