The view from my "office"

re: The view from my "office"

Anyway on a lighter note, the local airline preparing for a departure to Saipan.

Ha, Those planes bring back memories. I spent quite a few months working/living/exploring in Saipan, Tinian and Rota. Loved every minute of it.

Started Port Douglas, heli ride over Mossman Gorge, Daintree and reef.... then back to the Gorge for a swim.

Terrific day!

I'm no good at actually posting these when I'm at these places, but I'm only a month out this time :p

I think this is true for many people who end up working in some slightly "out of the way" areas. You learn very quickly there is so much more to life than a 9-5 commute and sometimes I think that as much as we in Oz consider ourselves so civilised, that we've lost sight of the fact we've become sanitised, regimented and politically corrected to the extreme in our day to day existence and we're actually succeeding in quashing the essence of life ... enjoyment. Like you, I love every minute of my slightly less civilised existence for half the year and it has successfully got me to start challenging my ideals at home. It's certainly food for thought. :p

It's the witching hour in the Melbourne QF F lounge! EK lounge to follow after a meal and spa treatment for the wife. Great start to the holiday!

(apologies didn't realise the quality was so dark. that's the wife on the left sighing at me 'needing' to take photos as this doesn't happen all the time!)
