I will NEVER have enough points for THAT!!!

re: The view from my "office"

Malta is one of my favourite places. Maybe I will get back there next trip.

I loved Malta also even though it was 45C and we were on top of one of those double decker tourist buses and no shade.
Especially loved this view with sacred hymns being broadcast at the time:

I only ended up here because of AFF! Bought the $900 PER-FCO return from the Cheap International Fares thread. Then realised I didn't want to do Italy without the +1 so started looking for somewhere else to go and voila! Only here for 6 nights so a good short trip destination. Weather has been nonstop awful though:(. My best buy to date has been an umbrella and poncho. Might have to come back when it's better!:)

Really unique place though. I can imagine summer the place would be overrun with tourists so I think shoulder season is better but before November. On Gozo currently:)

Sheraton Mirage - Port Douglas
Have they finished all the reno's. If so, how have the rooms come up. I like the rooms there, but they were very dated last visit I had.

Today's Whyalla office. Can't resist a stir so when I learnt Windmills Weatherall would be in Whyalla I couldn't stay away.I walked in behind Windmills so a lot of people were obviously wondering who I was especially when I stood beside one of his Ministers and had a chat-I didn't know who he was until he was acknowledged in the speeches.Windmills was here to unveil Whyalla's new forward looking logo-so they chose a rudder-symbol of an industry that shut down 38 years ago.Hmmm.

That is Whyalla's Mayor and former local member doing the introduction.Despite a helping breeze the Premier didn't quite unveil all of the logo.

A council workman finished the job later-

Heavans, it's as bad as the idiots who put locks on bridges in Paris, Florence etc...

Perspective is a strange thing. I told my UK friends that those stacks were created by local Indigenous people as a peace offering to the wild oceans. They were clearly moved by the cultural significance of the the rock piles... one day I'll tell them the truth..maybe.
