The view from my "office"

I am still having lots of fun - not - with my laptop. Hence no trip report started yet. I think I have got one photo to work.

San Sebastian Spain - on a perfect day.

Love that place. I swam from right (where the rocky point is "Pico Del Loro) to left (where the sand finishes and the marina starts "Alderdi Eder Parkea") across that bay a few years ago. About 1.2 km of beautiful, warm, clear water.

Are the slide pontoons still there? Can't see them in the pic.

Backing up a few days.

After being caught in the thunderstorm and deluge at Coolgardie reported upthread (fortuitously we had just stopped to refuel), we sat out the worst of it before heading about 80km S to camp. The radar indicated less intense rain further S, so we pressed on with me following my son in his LandCruiser ute.

There was a fair bit of water sluicing over the bitumen going out of town, but not too deep in the broad floodways. Once on the dirt it was a bit slippery in places with clay but most of the dirt road is broad, firm and well-drained. We pressed on steadily and while it remained wet, the amount reduced.

Camp can be described as in the middle of nowhere. Certainly no mobile phone comms.

Ahhh - great to be in the bush again and a nice little truncated rainbow beyond the trees.

And sunset was a portent of the weather clearing. Not to be. While the rain ceased, the next day was 10/10 cloud all day.

No matter - we had work to do. My son had shut down operations for a few weeks for holiday (and to meet me in London to consume a few scraps - reported elsewhere ;):)). Now I was on hand to help him get things going again before his workers return tomorrow.

Ha went down the salt mines in 1982 - I think one of my friends still has the costume he "forgot" to return. Trying to find some old photos. :)
