The view from my "office"

Had a lovely picnic lunch at Lyne Park in Rose Bay today. It is the site where the Qantas/ Empire flying boats started flying from (to Southhampton in the UK) in 1938. It was a trip that took 9.5 days.

And as we were leaving one of the seaplane came in. Came in to land, decided against it, circled around and came at it from another angle.

Noice. Good fishing?

Care to share where?
Think he'd rather not disclose where.

I remember as a kid in Tassie we'd go to a beach in summer and if there was even one other family on the beach we liked we'd drive on to the next one so we could have it to ourselves. Pretty sure we were always successful.

What’s the water temp at your office @RooFlyer?

Not sure, but I think most AFFers would regard it as "cold".

Sure, I've posted this scene in its normal deserted state a number of times here. Spring Beach, on the east coast of Tas. Fishing off the beach isn't that great; a mate and I usually go for flatties in the bay.

Where I live is a sleepy little town on the water - it only comes alive this time of year, and Easter when the 'shackies' come in force. This year - OMG ... maybe its the booming Tas economy but it seems everyone has invited a dozen friends to stay over. Every backyard a campsite; 4-5 cars outside not uncommon.
