The view from my "office"

:)
So the final Christmas Market visit for the year... Chicago. We landed this morning and the weather has been amazing, -1 but blue skies and pretty much no wind. Was interesting to have a wander around the market but it's not quite up to European standards (or prices!).

The end! Bah Humbug everyone! :)

And Bah humbug to you. Merry Christmas :)

The garden is lovely JohnK. I especially enjoyed seeing the dahlias - took me back to my mum’s when I was growing up. Impressive green nature strip too.:)
Thanks. Mum is 75 and is still passionate with her flower garden. She even did the vegetable garden this year as dad had a lengthy time in hospital. If I can 1/10th of what she does garden will look ok.

Wow they have done a lot to the Park since I was there ... 20 years ago .

I went looking for some hard copy pics I took then ( including a walk to the top of Mt Dove :)) but couldn't find them. Will keep looking.

But I did find this, the view of my overnight office from my time working in the NT ( And specifically looking at @JohnM and others who purport to disclaim my current desire for comfy hotels :)). I can't recall the significance of the Surf box, as it was one of our temporary camps. Why in the open and not under a tree? Think fruit bats!
That's still 'luxury' accommodation in my books. Our swags were a lot more basic, without the fancy poles, and we relied on tying the end off into the bullbar of our survey vehicle.
Is Surf a variation on the OMO/FAB messaging service? ;)
.... What do you mean? :)

Taken n my bike ride this morning along the Canning River bike path. I had to do an about 1km detour. They were doing aerial spraying, among the riverbank reeds and bushes, due to a recent increase in mosquito breeding. There were signs and staff on the bike path to warn everyone. ( Excuse the poor quality photos, I only had my old flip-phone with a very basic camera setup)
