The view from my "office"

We need a "so jealous" button...

Thank you so very much @QF WP, If I wasn't depressed before, I am now! I would have loved to have been there.

Next time I'll get photos of me with the bands for you then ;) - I'm fortunate enough to have a brother who's been in the music industry for 30-odd years and he knows the members of The Church well (had them stay at his house numerous times over the years when they were playing in Brisbane and I've picked up former guitarist Marty Willson-Piper from BNE airport once and delivered him to my brothers house).

He was backstage with them, unpacking and setting up, tuning guitars and helping with the changeovers between songs. That's him on stage below helping pack up after their set - I missed the better shot earlier where he gave lead singer Steve Kilbey a hat because of the sun.

I'm also lucky that I spend time with Ian Haug a couple of times a week in AFL season - his son and mine have played on the same team for the past year and are signed up to do it this year. He is just so down to earth and helps out.

I think The Church are such a fabulous band. I still play their music and think to myself, what an unbelievable sound for such a young Australian band (well, they were back then :D).

I have a number of great muso's in my team up here in PNG. (although somewhat different music to what I'm used to, but unreal all the same). One of my guys is a PNG rapper, so I call him Snoop Dog. I've never been huge into rap, but he's pretty bloody good. I got a good laugh out of them when I showed them a photo of me from 1981, when I did light and sound for bands around Melbourne. They couldn't believe this worn out old geriatic fart is the same guy behind the sound desk! I'm exhausted just thinking about those days, but they were genuinely some of the best times of my life (or so my fading memory tells me ;))!

Loved The Church as a teenager. I used to do a radio program on Saturday nights and Tantalized was my intro.
This is the best version I've ever heard:

Apologies to Mods if too far off topic... but I am watching this from my office...

And another airport, only one more to go
I picked the SIN EK lounge, as I knew the QF lounge would be full. First time there, and it's really nice - champagne and all.

Office today Per - Sin on QF71 A330-200 - King Valley. The seat was very creaky and some of the functions didn't work. It was fine for a day flight but would have been a problem overnight. I did find the footwell more spacious than some other J seats I have used.
