I do miss those beaches, inc. Twilight Beach etc. Many a childhood summer spent down there.

In Brunei we went on a small boat trip today. About 6 or 7 km down river from Bandar Seri Bagawan we spotted some Proboscis Monkeys at play. We also saw fairly big Salt Water Crocodile paddling about 200 metres away from the main Mosque in the centre of town. Unfortunately, he submerged too quickly too get a photo.

You get a nice view of the Sultan's palace on that boat trip too (if it's the same one I did many many years ago).

You are perfectly correct. The palace stands out on the hill It must have been the same or a very similar one.

The boat crew were happy too Because while we were nosed into the bank looking at the monkeys they pulled up their crab pot and caught a couple of mangrove crabs.

I have never seen that TR - so I will make it my mission to find it! We are just packing ready to do a day trip to Temburong today. I don't like heights so I will not be climbing any of the observation towers however.

If memory serves me right..... it'd be around 2007/2008. Brunei and Miri (Sarawak) in Malaysia. Those keywords should pinpoint it for you.
