It's not often in London you get a sunny 14 degree day in winter, so we decided to pop down the road and do a nice country walk in the Surrey Hills from Boxhill & Westhumble station to Leatherhead station.

Our bridge over the river as the stepping stones were....... missing one, so with being quite wet and slippy this was actually the better option!

Stopped in a nice country pub, although it had eye watering prices to match the area we were in. The views were lovely and it was even warm enough to sit outdoors :) To be honest I've had better Sunday roasts but given the last minute nature of the day it was an OK option. The other pub in town seemed to be quite similar.

Then a walk along the River Mole through some farms back into Leatherhead for a quick cup of tea before jumping on the train a few stops to get home.

Mrs Flashback was quite taken over the lovely snow drops that were out in bloom.

It was a fairly steep walk up Box Hill and Whitehill but after lunch it was a nice stroll along the river so much easier with a full belly!

That looks a fabulous way to spend a day. :)

There's certainly worse ways it could have been spent! :)

We're off to Nepal in 6 weeks and doing some hiking whilst there, so in the lead-up to that there will hopefully be nice weather still and a few more pics of hikes to come.

9 miles on the clock today but just around our local area so mainly woodland and downs (and across 2 or 3 golf courses!) - no photos though I'm afraid. Maybe next time!
