The Cottage ~ 18Km south of Wairoa.A working sheep station.Forecast was for heavy rain all day.Arrived just before 3pm with clear blue skies.About 4pm the dark clouds appeared and then the rain and wind started.

The view from our office near Wairoa was a little different this morning.

After lunch between periods of rain I went down to the beach.The property has 15KM of beach front.

The rain was coming in from the east.This is east.

So I decided to return to the cottage.Just as well the rain began 2 minutes after I got inside.

Great to see that it hasn't become too overdeveloped.

There are a lot of tourists here, especially back packers, but still a nice place without too many people. We're staying at Galle and just came down for the day. It is very relaxing though. Mrs K is doing her cross-section rating of Margaritas along the beach bars
