The view from my "office"

re: The view from my "office"

Haha this is my brother and his fiance! Our parents had the boat built in 1989 and we have always had it. Now they are living on a boat cruising the East Coast and my brother and I use it!

You never know who is watching!!

Are you serious? This is on the River Murray?

re: The view from my "office"

RX100 III is a brilliant camera if expensive.

All of the above.... plus also does video, and is brilliant in low light - my lRX100M3 actually did a better job of Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade than my Nikon D7100. I'll dig out and post some images tonight. Also charges via mini-USB so your Android phone charger can perform double duty. The fact that it's eminently pocketable means you'll take it out at times you mightn't take a larger camera.

Highly recommended. (If you buy the Sony, invest in the Richard Franiec grip makes the camera oh-so-handleable - see Richard Franiec's Camera Accessories

Yeah, 100%, the boat is called Dyarchy. The anchorage they are in in that picture is called Duck's Hospital. They were planning on going down to Deep Creek on Sunday night but the weather put paid to that and they went back to the marina at Goolwa on Sunday morning.

Do you have a higher resolution copy, and if so, would you mind sending me a copy? It's a nice photo!

Yes, I purchased the grip.
I made this camera a "gift to me" when my father passed away last year. (used some of his cash under the mattress)
My husband loves using the RX100 III, hence my looking for a "zoom" camera to go with it.

re: The view from my "office"

Did you mean the Sony RX100 III? I purchased this Sony a couple of months ago, still waiting to give it a work out. Looking for a good ZOOM camera to go with it.
Like Pushka, I only point and shoot. (camera, not gun  )

Yea. Sony RX100 III. Woops.

RX100 III is a brilliant camera if expensive. Easy to use but with photographer able controls if you want them, best image quality, easy panoramas, good auto HDR, Wifi connection to iPad to upload pics. (Then one can simply edit with Photos and upload to Flickr with Flickr Stacker plus easy upload to AFF. All whole lot can be done while sitting in a lounge with evening drinkies!)

There's even a remote control app for iPhone and iPad where one can focus and shoot remotely.

RX100 has limited zoom although with 20+ Mega pixels one can actually use digital zoom to fair effect. Still, one needs a good super zoom for wildlife etc. FujiFilm, Panasonic, Canon have a wide range.

I've been using a Sony HX50V for a couple of years. Absolutely brilliant; fits-in-your-pocket; 30x optical, 100x digital zoom. But yes, sometimes a maxi-zoom would be handy, but not handy enough for me to invest.

Yep, we have a shack on Dunns Lagoon, and I was on the balcony taking those photos. I have several, one with a pelican skimming past. They are over 3 mb each and I had to re-size to post.
Duck Hospital is where the Pelicans are. The boat left on Sunday.

re: The view from my "office"

Excellent pics, Pushka. Contrast is a little soft?

What camera did you buy? FZ1000? I've had several Panasonic Lumix (FZ 10 and FZ 20) over the years and then moved on to the FujiFilm HS20 equivalent. I like a super zoom for wildlife to complement the Sony FZ100 III when we travel. Have been thinking of another Panasonic or new Fujifilm.
I have the FZ100 and love it. Takes a great photo and the zoom is fantastic.

Did that in GC a couple of years ago.
I used to enjoy these kind of things once but as I sadly discovered, not anymore :(

This office was fun in HK last year.
