The view from my "office"

re: The view from my "office"

My office for the next 7 hours. More gold than Elvis's bathroom.

Beautiful in Melbourne at the moment. It's raining, and yet there is this muted sunset (even better live)...

Dare I ask why/how you came to be so close to the wall and elevated sufficiently to see over the wall to the compound beyond - I presume that this isn't the view from your office window, lest you happen to see any of the inmates (I presume) :o

At least you appear to be on the correct side of the wall :D ;)

Tonight's office
Appears to be some kind of sporting event. I think we have even had a team here before but had a feeling no longer, though may be wrong on that.

Oh and who were playing and who won?

Actually I don't have a sporting bone in my body, unless it is the sport of eating and drinking :)

A very pleasant day weather-wise near Toodyay about 90 km NE of PER on the W edge of the grain belt but I'm stuffed after a solid day's work preparing some crop trials. A beer is going down very nicely.

The last of the morning fog.

That starfire satellite unit looks a bit funny atop the old girl. Haha.

Nice spray rig though.

Can you provide any further information on the trials?

I was checking up on a a few very basic trials with fungicides against bacterial spot on tomatoes today.

Here's the only picture I bothered to take all day...

The seeding rig is old. Belongs to our friendly farmer. He sowed some areas of wheat and barley for us to use for foliar fungicide trials later in the season.

This location is right at the W edge of the wheatbelt, barely to the east of the Darling Scarp, so not prime large areas for the really big, new rigs. But it's convenient for easy visiting from PER.

The spray rig was being prepped for some work on his own crops.

The photo is from the platform from where I can supervise a small test circuit (mining stuff) within the compound. The view is looking outside, with some houses in the village visible. It is not a prison, but God it feels like it!! I am much happier outside the wall, and a few minutes after taking this photo I finished work for the day, and boldly dared to leave the compound and find a cold beer in the street. Leaving camp security after dark is "against the rules", but I just can't get rid of the dumb Aussie in me :)

I don't know - the site is before Toodyay so we don't go into town. All around is a lovely area, though. The Avon river runs across the back of the farm at the base of the hills in the background.

Yes, great part of the world. We used to fly low level down the Avon river (valley) back to base. Great fun.
