The view from my "office"

re: The view from my "office"

Well, yet another PERfect day in PERadise today. After a day yesterday exercising my right foot in sharp downward motions, I thought I'd better put one foot before the other in rapid successive movements on terra firma.

Outbound with 2.7 km ahead of me:

Return-bound with 2.7 km ahead of me (and a nice refreshing swim to follow):

And who would possibly complain about going to the office :mrgreen:.

re: The view from my "office"

That's cool!

What's the name of the little guy in the corner looking decidedly unimpressed with a drunk Eeyore (who, by the way, seems to be in need of some hairdressing :)) staring at him? Relation of Rebecca? :p

I assume we will be getting another instalment of the 'Adventures of Rebecca and QF' on the homeward journey soon? ;)
Eeyore was waiting for his bubbles to arrive (at 6am). But yes, his hair is a little ruffled from living in my handbag.

It wasn't the warmest here yesterday so you did well to go for a swim. I assume you're not going for a dip today, a little more overcast.

It was lovely in the water - but the warm-up run first is advised ;). I swim in the ocean year-round, usually aiming for every second day but I avoid the stormiest days. I can recommend it! It's usually only Aug-Sept that it's a bit cold. Alternate days, like today, are gym days.

re: The view from my "office"

Couple of pics from San Diego (Del Mar, the killer suicide doors of the Lincoln Continental) and a Chicago Cubs game, plus a very interesting lunch at the street festival called the Chicago Food Festival...Jerk Chicken, West African BBQ Goat plus Rattlesnake and Rabbit sausage...Not really working much this trip, more of having a good time because I need a break from family health issues that have preoccupied my life in the last 5 weeks in California (85yo mother had a stroke, but her recovery is amazing)

Now working in St Louis for two days, then back to the nursing home and my escape which are super fast greens at the country club down the street (thank god my mother paid her dues) so I can work on my short game and chillax. At least I am missing the cold weather in Brissy!

Cheers
BF

That looks like the view from Cullen Bay looking across to Larrakeyah.

Ahh The Vic.....it can bring out the best and worst in people. I was planning to catch up with colleagues there on one occasion however one said:

Him: "I can't go there I've been banned".
Me: "Why"?
Him: "I threw a guy off the balcony."
Me: "But that's on the first floor."
Him: "I know."

His wife banned this mild mannered family man from ever drinking rum again however I understand he's currently in the process of setting up a bar in Cambodia.

re: The view from my "office"

Yes oz, spot on about Cullen Bay.

Haha, Actually meant to write the Vic office or just Victoria because it is cold down here!

Sounds like your colleague just had a low tolerance for "annoying people"!

Didn't go to The Vic in Smith S this time, however the usual spots on Mitchell St were abuzz every night.

Monsoons seems to be the go to place these days.

<snip>.

Ah ... memories. I lived in Darwin in the 1980s, before the Marina was built. On Sunday mornings, I used to walk down from Larrakeyah to a mates place on the beach at Cullen Bay. Got the nets, then dragged them back and forth in waist deep water in front of his house a couple of times. Usually got 10-20kg of prawns, which went straight into a pot of boiling water on a campfire on the beach; add some crusty fresh bread .. and that was Sunday brunch. All 5 mins drive to the CBD.
