The view from my "office"

Cronulla has taken a beating from the low pressure systems of late.

The seas are are still battering the shore this week.

Some of that coastal dune shoreline has not protection at all. It looks like the road could end up in the sea in the not too distant future. Are plans in hand to dump more rock or concrete shapes to protect against erosion?

In this shot you can see much of North Cronulla beach has been washed away. This week they had to get a crane in to lift out the lifesaver's lookout before it fell into the void. they have started dumping rocks as a short term measure.


The work done further along some years ago seems to be holding (where the road climbs to the crest). But there will be a huge job in the coming years to sort out decent defences against further erosion.
