We loved the upper deck, couldn’t get enough of the local ginger beer.

Beautiful vineyards and sculptures at many of the wineries on the Mornington Peninsula. Favourite was definitely Montalto, with a lovely rustic feel, sculpture trail and huge veggie garden.IMG_1192.jpgIMG_1193.jpg

Pt Leo Estate was grand and had some amazing sculptures, but its grandeur felt completely out of place for the region. IMG_1202.jpgIMG_1197.jpg

Paringa Estate had a great outlook. Perhaps best known for their dozen or so ducks that call the vineyard home.

Unfortunately still on some medication so couldn't taste all of the wine, but the pinots were the standout. Also a couple of great late harvest sauvignon blancs.

Füssen, a town not far from Neuschwanstein Castle that is often overlooked. Worth a stop, nice little tip is to park just before the bridge going into town as it's free and only a short walk in :)

It's not terribly far to walk over the border into Austria...

But then you walk back into town and there's plenty to keep you occupied.

Today’s office was a chaotic and uncoordinated search of about 15 square metres of sand for a missing wedding ring. Not mine.

The groom spent a good 40 minutes on his own before realising that recruiting bribing an under age workforce might be more efficient. ;)

Ice cream and a cash reward saw the search party swell to around 30 at one point.

Post script: after about 90 minutes the groom gave up and went to the bar.

I saw him later and asked the obvious question. His reply, “Nah, I’m hoping one of the kids finds it. But even if they do, I’ll just lose it again. It’s the third time in 24 hours!”o_O
My husband lost his twice #1 was whilst gardening at our first home, missing for a year or s0, then one day while I was digging over a bed I caught a quick gleam of gold and found it. #2 was about 20 years later, he used to slip it off when playing golf and must have pulled it along with his glove during the game. He raced back looking for 16 holes till the dark beat him, posted a $50 reward and it was found on the 17th. Obviously not an omen as we've been married for 50 years. Why didn't this fellow try a metal detector?
