Booked into the Moty Hotel in central Malacca. In a "Premium Room". It is a symphony of shiny plastic wood. And we not only get a view of parked cars and buses but an overpass as well. But at least a separate shower. A$106 per night including breakfast.

The view can't always be a golden beach or ancient city walls. Sometimes it's the prosaic locality associated with family. On this occasion it is the London Road, Forest Hill SE26 (with the station behind the trees).

P.S. What about those blue skies!

Yesterday's office: Gardens by the Bay but that's a whole separate post. Finished at the 57th floor Lavo Restaurant at the Marina Bay Sands for mid arvo thirst quencher. Tip: there's a minimum spend of SG$30 ea which is easy but you get a snack (Indonesian curry flavoured popcorn and olives) included. There were no more than 10-15 people at Lavo but if you go to the viewing platform it's tourist hell. Roll up but not guaranteed entry or good seating but worth a go.




Tonight's office: dinner on Robertson Quay. Not as hectic as Clarke Quay which is the next quay going up the Singapore River, but that suits us just fine.
