found this on VA website:

*A flight is a trip with a single flight number. If you have to change aircraft but your flight number doesn't change, it is considered the same flight. If your flight number changes during your journey, even if you continue on the same aircraft, it will be considered two flights.

Well done Noob and welcome to the DJ Status Runner Club.

When you are called to stand up just say "My name is Noob and I'm addicted to DJ Status Runs". Then we all say "Welcome Noob and we understand your addiction".

BTW you may find me in Newcastle a few times next week. Anyone know a good Newcastle pub to have a few cold beers in? :D

Try the new dockyard or the brewery by the harbour. The Great Northern is a grand old building in the centre of town also worth a look.

I just had an image of a circle of people in the lounge

'Hi, my name is stuartfaz, and I'm a DJ status addict.'

'Hiii stuart'

Re: Virgin Status Run suggestions

Well I've done extensive searching over DJ routes within Australia, and can't find anything better than the one already mentioned in this thread. Not going to go into my methodology (except to say I didn't search every flight combo on the DJ site and could have easily missed a few)

Hopefully someone will find some better ones soon :)

Re: Virgin Status Run suggestions

I guess for folks up north, not fantastic but TSV-CNS can route via BNE at $425 and score 100 SC.

There's something better in the air. Perhaps visiting a famous flower show might be the go. It's the long way back and forth. Would you climb a bridge or two on the way? And don't be too defensive about the departure city.

Also, not available every day of the week.

As the suggestion of Sunstar320 I have made this a sticky and changed the title of the thread after a thread merge of similar threads. Thanks to some interesting posts in the last 24 hours I now find myself with something to do this long weekend as I try out one of the suggestions :)

...and if you are doing the connecting flight things, do let us know if they credit properly!

Its looking like the departure city is a good place for both QF and DJ status chasers, if you dont mind the sugar shaker ;);)

Will do, lets just say I have a very short turnaround this afternoon, so short the flights had to be on separate tickets for the positioning flight versus the run.

So much for being bored and deciding to do a status run that ended in MEL today :-|

I finally got to MEL tonight after BNE-NTL-BNE yesterday and quite a few hours in the lounge today! Finishing it tomorrow ash cloud permitting, at least the HI gave me the presidential suite despite me being on points!

The MEL lounge was an absolute mess, had to laugh at the cleaner that was sweeping minute particles of dust off the floor while pretty much every table was covered in bottles, plates etc.

It has been an interesting experience, with a couple of points of note:

1. Love the Beef Pie, did you get that, let me say it again , LOVE THE PIE :D:D
2. Why have spirits for PE passengers but not the right mixers, some of us are partial to scotch and dry:cool:.
3. Sitting in the Gold Coast Suns aircraft tonight with an infant in 1F looking at the sticker on the wall saying no children in this row

DJ have been fantastic with the way they have handled the events of the last 24 hours, and the flight crews have been A++++, its a good sign that they have come of age!

Markis,
Doing that route a few times shortly, was the PE cabin full on any of the sectors?
