Tokyo Haneda slot - how will Virgin Operate it?

Did you book HND-BNE because you needed to be in HND or is it some other type of flight ?
It was booked last year as part of my travel for the following:

I'm flying to HND on the 2am JAL flight that Monday.

With severe restrictions on foreign nationals now starting to be applied by many countries, amongst other issues like crew...is this route starting in 2.5 weeks now completely untenable?

Ok, who is still really thinking VA are going to fly this route in a couple of weeks....

Bets please?
I would be thinking PS is hoping for the government to take the decision out of his hands.
I actually believe that if there are no travel restrictions in place then the flights will go ahead

Reading through the posts quickly. There is always a possibility that ANA may drop some flights. It doesn't mean that VA would be the airline pulling out.

The key is for the Japanese aviation authorities to relax the "Use It or Lose It" slot rule. Once the authorities agree you can expect most airlines (VA included) to delay their HND launches/expansions.

Just saw from another thread that the inaugural flight will still go ahead on 29 March but frequency will be three times per week from 29 March until 3 May. I did a dummy booking and it looks like days of operation will be Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays until daily service is reinstated.

Thanks for looking at the operating days. I am booked on a Thursday departure, so hopefully will be able to get a refund without fee.

Presumably given Qantas' announcement today, they will cease all Japan flights imminently ... so there should be no reason for Virgin not to delay the flight - given its not like Qantas would have flown it.

And NH has delayed the launch of a second daily HND-SYD flight until April 25th
