ANYONE GOT AN update on CODES still working?
Anyone used them since LLOYDs took over underwriting them?

Has something changed with Annual Insurance price recently?
When I was looking In November it showed $1000+ for Annual....NOW $350 for Annual?????

I not that 1cover have 90day trips but TID is 38day trips for Leisure in Annual?

Hi PLANT,

I paid $300 from TID for the annual back in DEC 11.

I believe possibly different underwriters now.. TID very reasonable though.

Back to not being happy with them....
Reason: I was attempting to check Annual policy In Nov 11 and was quoted online $1300. Turns out this is if you travel 365days continuously... I rang them about ensuring my last trip had a printout of the exact dates valid for and not just hear say "yes it goes to the end of the week" They took my free extension and did not mention\offer the MULTI TRIP ANNUAL that I would have went for....Emailed today and explained their poor info on website and the confusion, seeking to buy another policy(ANNUAL) with FREE extension...replied I lost opportunity.

Think I may go with 1COVER now as they offer 90 days Multi trip where as TID only offer 38days!
How do you prove the Business 90days TID Multi trip?

just got a new one today winter2012 will save you 10%

Still pays to shop around.

Bought a policy a couple of months ago for mrsdoc for an upcoming (short) trip and Amex (paid policy) was cheaper.

Bit rattled

TID is cheaper but only 38 days Multitrip LEISURE away.

I have a lappie valued here $4K but have a receipt for $3K HK.....what would be considered its value if claim required?

Any other alternatives?

Generally portable computing equipment loses a bit chunk of value the moment you take it out of the box.

Declare it if you must, but I doubt that device would be worth even $2k these days.

TIDTHANKS just gave me about 8% discount.

Out of curiosity, do TID cover delayed baggage? This is the only type of claim I've had to make when travelling for business, but couldn't see it in the PDS...

There is some cover for delayed luggage. It is the PDS, somewhat obscurely located - under the heading "Section 24: Luggage and personal effects": (http://www.travelinsurancedirect.com.au/pds)

...

Essential clothing and toiletry items bought
because your luggage is temporarily lost
or delayed (not permanently lost) by the
carrier for more than 12 hours, up to $250
for a single policy or $500 for a family
policy. This does not apply on the leg of
your trip that brings you to your home in
Australia. We will not pay more than $500
single or $1,000 family if the delay is more
than 72 hours. You must give us relevant
receipts and written confirmation of your
claim, including the length of the delay
from the appropriate authority. No excess
applies to this benefit. ...

Yes. I got $250 + some other things back in 2008. Baggage was delayed for about a week.

Any discount updates?
TIDSURF does not work
TIDTHANKS does, but not give 10%
