If you've had a policy with them before, try contacting them. I asked nicely, and told them my budget (not much more than last year). They retained a happy customer.

Well done.
I have my annual policy with TID & the transparency of coverage is well respected for including Snow Skiing which suits my peace of mind.

I was reading the PDS and got confused about whether they will pay for camera left in the boot which got stolen.

This is what is stated:
4.11.e a video camera, mobile telephone, photographic equipment, personal
computer or jewellery left unsupervised
by you in a motor vehicle;
but 4.11.h also states:
items taken from an unsupervised
motor vehicle, unless taken from a
locked boot or locked concealed
luggage compartment of a station
wagon, hatchback, van or motor home
between sunrise and sunset local time
and there is evidence of damage or
forced entry which is confirmed by a
police report

What do you think?

exclusions need to be read within the context of the covers so it is hard to say but the key things of the second part are 1. it has to have happened during day light and 2. there must either be a broken window or a jimmied lock relating specifically to the break in and it will therefore also need to appear in the police report. If there is no noted sign of a break in by the police, then there will be no claim or if it happened once the sun went down there is no cover.

I understand part 2, but what I'm confused with is that they've mentioned camera will not be covered if it is left unsupervised in part 1. So does that mean even the camera is locked in the boot and the car gets broken in (happened in daytime), they won't pay for the camera?

Ok so I haven't read the full policy myself but what it is saying is: jewellery, computer, camera at no time are covered in a vehicle unless you are physically with the car - ie you may not be inside the car but you would be able to touch the car within a few steps therefore supervising it
But other items ie clothing, bags, sunglasses are covered in the vehicle as long as they are in the boot (or other mentioned hideyholes) and its during the day

There is another 10% discount on offer for Easter with promotion code EGG.

Anyone know of a new code? The usual suspects (ie TIDThanks, TIDSave) are now only giving 6% discount..... I know it doesn't amount to much, but better in my pocket than theirs....

I used TIDTHANKS today and saved 6% or $41.46 on our policy for our trip to the USA and Canada.

TIDTHANKS is still only offering 6% discount. Is there another discount code around ?

Yesterday, I got an email with the offer to get a 10% discount on travel insurance. Valid for purchases by October 14 and I have not seen a code as such, however the following link should work:

Exclusive Offer Save 10% on your travel insurance

I admit I haven't tried it as my annual policy is not due for renewal just yet, however hopefully this is useful for others out here!

I received the email this week too (from Alison?). I clicked on the link to obtain a quote and then abondoned because the annual policy requires a start date within 30 days (thereabouts) of purchase. My next international trip is not until mid Nov so I will wait. The next day Alison from TIDs emailed me again asking if I needed assistance with purchasing my policy. I expect they need the business right now.

I then did some further Internet research looking for the best insurer for annual travel insurance and ended up so confused. It sounds like Covermore is quite good but why do t they automatically excluded cancellation over...you have to add it. I'm over it lol.

I love TID annual policy as they are the only one that let's your spouse travel separately. It makes a huge difference to overall cost.
