Re-read that message again - you're spot on - apologies, got confused! If that day is in mid August 2024 then you will have Platinum status until mid August 2025.
If your booking reference (PNR) remains the same, then it is likely Triple Status Credits will continue to apply. Will I still get triple status credits if I need to change my travel dates? They will still be within the eligible travel period
Yes, I travelled on Saturday, Same-Day return. Outbound flight's standard SC and TSC posted at the same time, about 4 hours after the flight departed. As others have mentioned, the TSCs are posting very quickly. 1of 4 flights posted not long after boarding 2 of 4.
2nd of 4 was a bit slower to post but landed o/n.Yes, I travelled on Saturday, Same-Day return. Outbound flight's standard SC and TSC posted at the same time, about 4 hours after the flight departed.
Return TSC's were there Sunday monrning.
That’s pretty good. Two days in a row, I’ve had the first flight post quickly, and the 2nd o/n. In fact yesterday arvos flight only posted in the last hour or so. Back to Gold for a year (and a bit) and 12mths to get to WP (if the need and opportunity arises).Flew four sectors in J today. All those plus the TSCs have already posted. Surprisingly quick.
Still waiting on both ordinary and TSCs to post from a flight Sunday night. Odd as I've found mine usually post within an hour or so of landing!
Well done! Yes, if you fly often, Platinum is definitely worth it. It's not just the free Economy X. The free internet is good too, but best of all (I find) is Fly Ahead. It's brilliant being able to get onto an earlier flight from a Choice fare, and being able to call earlier in the day to organise an earlier flight.Good news everybody! Thanks to the triple SC deal I just hit VA WP for the first time. I was well on the way to retaining Gold but under this offer I booked 2x SYD-BNE-TSV-SYD and a SYD-BNE return (one leg in J). I just got back from TSV a few hours ago and already my status has "Welcome to Platinum!" I've been surprised how quickly the SCs and points have been credited. Previous offers have taken days and weeks for the bonuses.
I'm just exploring what's available. Not a huge difference in general flying except for free Economy X but there are other things regarding bookings that seem to have value.
Anyway I only need 800 to requalify now, rather than 1000.
Yes I wasn't aware of Fly Ahead. Back when I was working for my corporate masters we flew QF on fully flexible fares everywhere. It was great to turn up early for a flight and just check at the gate of an earlier flight and get straight on (if seats were available). It could come in handy for some of the connections through BNE when coming back from TSV as there's often an earlier connection but you can't book it due to connection times being too tight.Well done! Except if your SYD-BNE-CNS status run in paid J today had both sectors on VH-VUK which not only has the coughpier new seats without the divider, but also no internet. I’ve forgotten how much the internet allows you to soak up time.Well done! Yes, if you fly often, Platinum is definitely worth it. It's not just the free Economy X. The free internet is good too,
Offtopic but a handy hint since it seems a lot of people haven't realised this exists in QF. If you ever fly QF again, look on your app on the day of the flight. Its quite often you can move yourself even if the gate/lounge agents say no.Yes I wasn't aware of Fly Ahead. It’s not always offered. That’s where VA wins because with QF officially unless you’re P1 on a Flex fare then it’s not guaranteed.Offtopic but a handy hint since it seems a lot of people haven't realised this exists in QF. Its quite common staff says no but the app says yes and you diy the move. It’s not always offered. That’s where VA wins because with QF officially unless you’re P1 on a Flex fare then it’s not guaranteed.
It’s annoying as I’ve been told a few times no at Melbourne flying through to Brisbane. I get they don’t want people booking the last cheapest flight of the day and showing up at 6am instead but at least they could have said yes to moving forward by 1 hour.
