Triple status credits on Virgin Australia

This is incorrect.

If you are of Velocity Gold Status then the day you have flown 8 eligible segments as well as earning 1000 SCs in the previous 365 days is the day you achieve Platinum status.

You will have that Platinum status for the next 365 days.

If that day is in mid August 2024 then you will have Platinum status until mid August 2025.

As others have mentioned, the TSCs are posting very quickly. 1of 4 flights posted not long after boarding 2 of 4.

Which should help with one of my “Travel mistakes” - more to follow when this dubious “why am I doing this” SR is completed tomorrow.

Yes, I travelled on Saturday, Same-Day return. Outbound flight's standard SC and TSC posted at the same time, about 4 hours after the flight departed.

Return TSC's were there Sunday monrning.

2nd of 4 was a bit slower to post but landed o/n.

Yesterday morning I hard landed to VA RED. This morning back to PS with 2x squiggles and 44 SCs required for SG. Flights 3 & 4 today.

Still waiting on both ordinary and TSCs to post from a flight Sunday night. Odd as I've found mine usually post within an hour or so of landing!

Flew four sectors in J today. All those plus the TSCs have already posted. Surprisingly quick.
That’s pretty good. Two days in a row, I’ve had the first flight post quickly, and the 2nd o/n. In fact yesterday arvos flight only posted in the last hour or so. Back to Gold for a year (and a bit) and 12mths to get to WP (if the need and opportunity arises).

Update, finally showed up this morning with both regular credits and TSCs at the same time. Probably the longest wait I've had for credits to post but at least they eventually did arrive!

Good news everybody! Thanks to the triple SC deal I just hit VA WP for the first time. I was well on the way to retaining Gold but under this offer I booked 2x SYD-BNE-TSV-SYD and a SYD-BNE return (one leg in J). I just got back from TSV a few hours ago and already my status has "Welcome to Platinum!" I've been surprised how quickly the SCs and points have been credited. Previous offers have taken days and weeks for the bonuses.
I'm just exploring what's available. Not a huge difference in general flying except for free Economy X but there are other things regarding bookings that seem to have value.
Anyway I only need 800 to requalify now, rather than 1000.

Well done! Yes, if you fly often, Platinum is definitely worth it. It's not just the free Economy X. The free internet is good too, but best of all (I find) is Fly Ahead. It's brilliant being able to get onto an earlier flight from a Choice fare, and being able to call earlier in the day to organise an earlier flight.

Yes I wasn't aware of Fly Ahead. Back when I was working for my corporate masters we flew QF on fully flexible fares everywhere. It was great to turn up early for a flight and just check at the gate of an earlier flight and get straight on (if seats were available). It could come in handy for some of the connections through BNE when coming back from TSV as there's often an earlier connection but you can't book it due to connection times being too tight.

Except if your SYD-BNE-CNS status run in paid J today had both sectors on VH-VUK which not only has the coughpier new seats without the divider, but also no internet. I’ve forgotten how much the internet allows you to soak up time.

Cmon VA get your fleet consistent. Also, removing the bulkhead, shoehorning in one extra row of Y isn’t worth it and annoys J pax. Seriously, how often are your load factors above 95%?

Offtopic but a handy hint since it seems a lot of people haven't realised this exists in QF. If you ever fly QF again, look on your app on the day of the flight. Its quite often you can move yourself even if the gate/lounge agents say no.

In fact I've only failed to move myself once in the past 5 years on syd/mel/bne route. I have the majority of flights except 2 that I can see available to me to move right now.

It’s not always offered. That’s where VA wins because with QF officially unless you’re P1 on a Flex fare then it’s not guaranteed.

It’s annoying as I’ve been told a few times no at Melbourne flying through to Brisbane. I get they don’t want people booking the last cheapest flight of the day and showing up at 6am instead but at least they could have said yes to moving forward by 1 hour.

Its quite common staff says no but the app says yes and you diy the move.

Newly minted Platinum after the weekend run CBR-MEL-ADL- AFF DINNER - ADL-MEL-CBR. That was easy. Plus 330/800 SC to kick off the run to retain over the next 12 months
