Turkish Airlines Status Match

Ok seem to be getting same problems as described above, I have a booking SYD-SIN-IST-VIE with the outbound leg on QF before changing to TK for the flights out of SIN to europe.

I've tried seat selecton on the TK website using the supplied booking code but it always fails
Even tried the turkish language page with same result
The QF my bookings page doesn't allow any seat selection options for the TK flights which was expected

I put in my Aegean FF number (trying to get star gold through that route) so no miles and smiles account.

should I try baysider's advice of calling the sydney phone number to select seats? Hoping to get my preferred aisle seat...
I've always been able to pre-select by phoning the Sydney number, and it's never been +100 days.
Seat Selection (Business and Miles & Smiles Elite) - call 02 9255 9900 and select option 3.
Miles & Smiles Award Bookings - call 1800 750 849 (connects you to Turkey at no charge).
Nothing ventured ...

Don't forget that on TK you can only select seats 100 days or less.

That's what I read but ozkid claimed to have different experience.

EF could not show any plane seating before 100 days when I last checked.

Just for the record, the TK website seat selection success I reported above was <100 days. (Of course, that, in itself doesn't rule out the possibility of it being available >100 days out.) My earlier seat selection experience would have been <100 days, too.

Hi everyone, an update regards seat selection on TK
got on the phone today, flights are next month so <100 days (Seat Selection (Business and Miles & Smiles Elite) - call 02 9255 9900 and select option 3.)

short hold, easily booked 2D for all my flights :)

Same here, called the SYD office and selected 1D & 2D for flights departing in June. Very friendly service.

Just received an email advising my SM has been approved. Only took 14 hours, maybe crossing your fingers actually works;)

Just over 5 months ago (27/11) I received my status match to miles and smiles, I have not flown any *A segments so I never expected to receive a card but low and behold I got my welcome pack in the mail today

That has to be a record.

Even longer than the 4 months it took for mine - although it did arrive about 1-2 weeks after I submitted an online enquiry asking why I hadn't received it. Not sure when it was actually sent though.

My partner's card pack arrived yesterday.
Must have called in reinforcements at TK HQ.
Just in the nick of time, as my *Gold expires soon. Now we have another year. :)

Over Easter I had the opportunity to 'give back' to TK by flying with them from Singapore to Stockholm via Istanbul and back in J on their A333. Fantastic. Their food is phenomenal and the hard product fantastic. As for their newly opened lounge in Istanbul, definitely top five of the lounges I've visited. It's amazing, with many different self-pour drink stations, a number of different food stations including chefs cooking local dishes, an abundance of seating, great decor, a library, a cinema, some kind of golf thing (not for me, but anyway). I had five hours there and could easily have spent double that.

Importantly, I wouldn't have flown with TK if it wasn't for the status match.

Were you on an A333 for each leg? Was the J seating IST-ARN Continental style or real J?
