TV series discussion {'ware Spoiler Alert}

You're not alone.

Haven't seen a single episode but the more I read the plot and the more people talk about it the less I want to watch it.

I could be totally wrong.

Wouldn't be the first time I suppose. :)

I used to think that. Then I made the mistake of watching just one episode...

True. Full House totally surprised me. Can't think of many more.

I am in a great position where I am actively boycotting TV due to all the rubbish they show so the urge is not so great.

Masterstroke of confirmation bias there JohnK

GoT is OK, I'm not interested in reading the books, but I feel that the TV series jumps around storylines too quickly, are the books similar?

The other series I'm enjoying is Vikings.

But TV time is a rarity with three yungun's

Watched the six episodes of Glitch on ABC iview. Not bad, looks like they already planning to do another series.

I have to confess that I haven't watched an episode of Game of Thrones so I can't really form a balanced opinion. I have read a few write ups here and there and even a few recaps, which claim they have "shocking and sensational revelations" or something to that effect. I am guessing that if I started watching it from the beginning I would love some aspects and hate other aspects of the stories. I am also guessing I would feel compelled to watch all of it regardless of whether I was enjoying it or not. I'd want to know what was going to happen next.

I also have trouble watching lots of TV, as with young children, I don't get to access the TV until after 9.30 each night.

I'm partial to Doctor who - I got it from my father and 2 of my daughters have got it from me - my better half thinks we are all nuts :) :)

New series coming soon = happy days

I finished watching the six episodes of glitch yesterday too. Not too bad at all. Some great Aus actors in there. Will be interesting to see where it goes in season two of it comes back.

I'm now watching Series 1 of Orange is the new Black. Some graphic portrayal about life in the slammer Fromm a female perspective

+ 1 on Vikings. GoT books are excellent, better paced than the TV series, which I like too.

I live in a bit of a Doctor Who house but this year there doesn't seem to be the longing for the new series as there has been in the past. Not sure if it's Peter Capaldi as the Doctor or the writing but the last season felt a bit like jumping the shark. That said, they can be very innovative so anything can happen. It's always hard with a new Doctor although Matt Smith was accepted pretty quickly.
The only thing I've heard about the new season is that Maisie Williams (aka Arya Stark from GoT) has a role at some stage - cameo I'm guessing.

She was in the promo advert with the Doctor saying "What are you doing here"?

Apparently gets excellent reviews and following but for me, nope. Doesn't appeal at all. :)

You know nuthin' Jon (K) Snow :)

Sorry, couldn't resist - it's a GoT reference.
