TV series discussion {'ware Spoiler Alert}

Saw some promos for season 2 of this show which looked good so checked out season 1. A little slow but still quite interesting, enough to want to watch season 2.

I think season 2 was actually better. Just weirdly interesting the what ifs of different history timelines.

Absolutely. On paper it's a unique and interesting story which I just had to give a try, glad I did. :)

The wife bought me a Netflix subscription for Christmas, specifically so I could watch the Gilmore Girls revival. I was not disappointed. Now I am trying to get my money's worth befire I/we have to decide to renew.

Separately, I am slowly working through https://www.starz.com/series/thegirlfriendexperience

It's different, and I am sure it wouldn't be for everyone. But it's not bad. Intense.

Love Netflix. I think it's great value. We use it on several devices - e.g. iPad etc and tv.

Lots of shows mentioned that I have enjoyed but not my current favourite, The Americans! Fantastic spy series set in the 80s.

The Americans gets better as it goes. This show really plays the long game with many storylines playing out over quite a long time. It's as much about the complex relationships as anything else so if that is not your thing then I can see how it wouldn't grab you.

Is it? We started watching it a while ago, and I liked it. But never got past the fifth or six episode. Something about it just didn't click for me.

Keep watching then as the husband and wife start having issues.

I'm really missing having new episodes of "Arrow", "Flash" and "Legends of Tomorrow" while they are on mid season break. To make up for this I've been reading "Arrow" fan fiction on various websites. I'm really enjoying it. I found a fascinating series of stories set in an Arrow alternative universe. The premise is "What would have happened if Tommy hadn't died at the end of Season 1". It uses lots of events and characters from canon but shows them from a different perspective. I found it on a website called Archive of our Own. The series of stories is called "Infinite Love".

Infinite Love - realityisoverrated - Arrow (TV 2012) [Archive of Our Own]

I suggest starting by reading the story, "The First Time" and then deciding which order you want to read the rest of the stories in. There's plenty of reading to keep you occupied while sitting on a plane or in the lounge.

Started AO last night, watched 4 episodes. We don't have Foxtel. Did when the kids were young, but found they spent too much time in front of it, so cancelled.

I wish foxtel was long gone. But GoT and damn sports means I can't stop it.
Sport does not worry us and we wait out GoT and get it through Apple when it finally is released from Foxtel. It means we wait a bit for the season to end but can cope with that; I don't need to watch it as soon as it comes out. YMMV :)

Started watching The Crown. Would have thought they couldn't have made this until ER passed on but I guess they did make that Helen Mirren movie a while ago.

Was a bit surprised to hear King George VI drop the c word in the first ten minutes. That would have had my mum switching off, not that she would have Netflix.

Started watching A Series of Unfortunate Events (Lemony Snicket) with the kids last night on Netflix. Some amazing production values. Neil Patrick Harris chews the scenery as you'd expect. It doesn't seem that long since the movie but a series give more time to do the whole story.
