TV series discussion {'ware Spoiler Alert}

Riverdale on Netflix is the new thing. Try and imagine the characters from Archie comics in a Twin Peaks style murder mystery. You can't, can you? No matter how serious it all is, I can't resist singing the Archie Show cartoon theme, much to my wife's annoyance.

"Archie's here..."

Still working my way through the Nordic Crime Noir.

I am almost finished watching Springfloden (Spring Tide) on SBS Online and it is proving to be yet another excellent example of this genre.

I watched the first episode last night. As a long time Archie's fan growing up I was intrigued by the previews. Quite enjoyed it but I agree that the characters could be named Bob, Jane and Daisy and it wouldn't make any difference to the series.

Agreed. Until Hot Dog appears anyway.

Rumour has it that Broadchurch series 3 starts showing in the UK soon. I have no idea how long it will take before it is shown here. If anyone hears anything, please advise.

So has anyone got Netflix, Stan and Foxtel?
We had Presto (got it free via a VA promotion) but it died and we got Netflix. Increasingly shows we want are on Stan but it might be a bit much to get that as well seeing as we've signed on for a free trial of Foxtel Go (or whatever the online version is called). We've never had Foxtel in cable form and the way things are going I think its days are numbered, in cable form anyway.

We have.. We need Foxtel for sport, GoT and A place called Home, Netflix for basically everything, and then Stan (which I hate) for Billions.
We have Foxtel satellite at home and Foxtel live at our work apartment.

Looking forward to Broadchurch season 3. Think we will bank episodes and then binge :)

Yes looks interesting! Good to see ABC have finally understood the market and are not hoarding the program for years but "fast tracking" it.

For some reason Stan delayed Billions.

Yes these are very silly decisions from the 20C world of celluloid where they could hold the film back from specific countries. Not showing it means people will just download them from the torrent sites and not frequent the streaming services. It's simple. It's not a matter of paying for the program or not it's a matter of getting the "fix" asap. Programs should (read must) be released simultaneously world-wide otherwise the service will lose customers.

It's on now.

I think the US already showed 2 or 3 weeks before we got it.

I shall give one example. The movie Hidden Figures was released in late December in the USA.

Doesn't get a release in OZ till Feb.

Dvd screener is already out in Jan.
