That goes without saying. ;)

An interesting experience for me at BNE airport yesterday. As I was walking towards the lounge I saw a couple of blokes in front of me and one had the old Bronze tags on his back pack telling his friend to hurry up as he was guesting him into the lounge.

I said to the bloke with the bronze tags "Are you interested in going into the business lounge?". He said "No, we are right" getting his boarding pass out of his pocket. I said "Are you sure?" keeping in mind the bronze tags and he said "Yes". Anyway he goes to the desk and shows his boarding pass and they both turn left. I showed my boarding pass and turned right into the business lounge.

I guess the Qantas Lounge is better than the Business Lounge.

I saw in another thread you were using Safari though. Don't tell me they're forcing (which of course as you know there are ways around it ;)) you to use Safari when in Windows, still giving you a touch of Apple?

Bronze tags....? The paper ones you get for free when in the check-in area? Or do you mean QP tags?

My mistake. I was using it in Windows mode.

No the actual plastic luggage tags.

Come to think of it they may have been Gold plastic luggage tags. I haven't seen those tags for a while....

Maybe they were meeting someone else in the QP

Back on topic - does the JQ flight entitle transfer between terminals in Sydney, of do we have to walk or train?

QF specifically mentions Jet* and oneworld connections when arriving in Syd...

Also, as a QF Plat I've never had an issue using the QF intl transfer - even with no onward intl flight.
Jetstar aint mentioned in the web site.

ISTR reports PAX being denied use of the transfer when transferring to/from jetstar from/to a non Qantas/oneworld flight.

Maybe it's a new philosophy.

Ok, thinking about joining for JQ 35.

With the latest sale, just have to see if I can get down from CNS cheap enough ;)

I finally booked my flights.

29 Jan DJ932 9:00am flight to Sydney.
29 JanJQ35 3:15pm flight to Melbourne, cheapest, when I get the itinerary that is. paid but no email.
30 Jan DJ267 11:25am flight to Canberra
30 Jan DJ1227 5:30pm flight to Brisbane

Looking at staying overnight at Holiday Inn airport.

Sorry Adelaide but already been to that lounge in the last 12 months.

No Virgin Blue Gold so I will be hanging out in the Qantas lounges, before my Virgin Blue flights.

The Q for checkin for JQ35 on Sat 29/1 at T -3hrs is going to look quite interesting....I wonder how many AFFers will be in front of me in the Q:shock:

What's the record no. of AFFers on the same flight:?::idea:

Currently the record stands at 14 Fters on QF175

ps. There were 19 Fters listed but not all had joined or posted on AFF. (I think one was deleted, so maybe 15).
pps. There was a 20th Fter who happened to be on the same flight but wasn't aware of other Fters until we boarded.

We should come close to beating an AFF record but it will be a push to beat the Flyertalk Australian number.

Am I the only one worried that the next 'enhancement' will be to remove access to the F lounge for JQ passengers?

Don't give Qantas any ideas.

Can't remember exactly the no. of FTers that day, but a figure of 30-40 comes to mind:mrgreen:...so I guess the lounge manager of the day invoked that rule...quite inappropriate as it was a Saturday early afternoon when the lounge was almost deserted.

Try closer to 50, as we hired a bus to do a lap around the airport as part of the Sydney Airside tours.

I really wish I could join you all on this! Only saving grace might be if I have to go out to field around this period, which would force me to cancel the current two week holiday I have going to visit my parents' relatives.

If only to set a new record for F loungers.... I'm relying on one or more of the rest of you to take pictures and write a TR:!:

You know I will write a trip report; but don't expect a detailed description of the food available in the F lounge.

I'm confirmed on JQ35 now and eagerly awaiting my first F lounge experience.

If anyone is still waiting to book I recommend doing a price beat - TT is selling comparable sectors for 28.95 at present... 26.06 is a bargain!

Here's a challenge for you: see if you can get a copy of the menu and everyone's orders. :p :D

Did you end up paying $26.06 for your flight? ;)

Right. I decided to join the party, and thanks to my status match, give some of my cash to DJ instead of QF.

I'm flying up on the Saturday morning from MEL on DJ821, and will join the JQ35 F lounge party.

Will also probably partake in the Sunday party at the MEL lounge if people are around for that.

So, add me to the confirmed list for JQ35 and you have another WP with a guest spot if anyone needs it:)

I put that as 15 confirmed people on JQ35. That means I'm the record breaker ;)

Whilst I would love to join, I don't think I can justify flying down from CNS.

Especially seeing as I'm flying down on 1 Feb for another LOTFAP trip.

At the rate we're going we might be able to guest the rest of the people on JQ35, although I suspect QF might not like that. Probably their highest spread of WPs on a single JQ flight :D

Maybe I should spend the night :D
