Whilst I would love to join, I don't think I can justify flying down from CNS.

Especially seeing as I'm flying down on 1 Feb for another LOTFAP trip.

DJ are $69 each way ex CNS, you could always join the start in BNE, I am giving JQ the miss and going straight to MEL!

At the rate we're going we might be able to guest the rest of the people on JQ35, although I suspect QF might not like that. Probably their highest spread of WPs on a single JQ flight :D

Well I am very tempted to fly up to Sydney in the a.m. and do the JQ flight back in the afternoon, but I'm getting nervous about all this talk about them not allowing guests. Sure would suck to be stuck at the airport without the party!

Maybe I should spend the night :D

I know of an EXCELLENT doss house in St Kilda that offers dodgy movies and champagne breakfast in bed :mrgreen:

I think the airline sites don't like me any more.

I'm trying to have a look at what might be possible for this. It's now the JQ web site that I can't get past the first page.

Alright!!

I'm in!!

Just have to decide whether to go straight to Sydney for JQ35.

Or whether to go via BNE..??

I think I'll definitely go via SYD for JQ35 though. That should be too fun to miss :)

I will enjoy watching the nose heavy JQ35 landing

If you booked the cheapest rate then Jetstar won't know or care if there are WPs aboard.

I will have to make a call as Jetstar haven't sent me an itinerary; they did charge the credit card of course.

Both the Jetstar and Virgin Blue websites working fine for me,

Straitman I just think you are hesitant to book, you know you want to join the fun. :D

On a JQ Y ticket everyone is equal.

Exactly. Your seat will be determined at check-in or whatever you selected when you booked the ticket; QFF status is irrelevant.

Note that JetSaver Light pax must pay a fee to select a seat at booking time. JetSaver and above pax can select a seat at time of booking for free. The upfront seats and exit rows are nominally charged, but you can try and request them at check-in and see if they will charge you or not.

Who did not pay the extra $$ for preferred seating.

Me.

Because I refuse to pay, especially as I can almost always get an exit row seat during OLCI. The flaw in my plan of course was that I neglected the fact that this is an international flight and hence not OLCI  Will just have to sweet talk the lady at check in :p

Me too, will run the risk of a cough seat. It's only an hour flight!

It was not a question as I figured I would now the answer already for most here who have too much experience, it was a continuation of Straitmans post:
