I have to make sure that I at least go into the QF lounge in BNE, considering the purpose of this trip, but I am definitely considering a visit to the DJ lounge as this is the first time I've had a chance to fly DJ since I got my status match.

With the problem with the Indonesian ash cloud that could cause some problems for JQ35, as JQ35 heads to Bali after arriving into Melbourne. :!::shock:

What is good is that JQ35 is still available for sale, there is also JQ517 at 2:20pm, a domestic flight to MEL so I will be watching those 2 flights.

Also checked in for DJ932 at 9:00am, see everyone tomorrow.

Was also mentioned in post 418. Other than what you’ve mentioned, I recall when I last flew that route with you we had a look at boarding passes onboard the flights and came to the conclusion that most onboard just used it as a domestic service… so if the majority of people are just flying to MEL, they might still use it, even if they can’t fly onwards.

I'll be carrying (rolling) my Qantas-marketed 3p Marketing 20 inch rollarboard with a Platinum tag and an AFF tag. I expect to be in the SYD T3 international transfer lounge around 11.30/11.45am and will proceed straight to JQ check-in on arrival at T1.

There will be at least four (myself and 3 others with me) that have zero luggage. We're flying up for the morning, then back (And i'm pretty sure nlagalle is doing the same along with a few more).

I'll take my chances with seating. It's an hour flight. There's drinks to be had in the J lounge afterwards anyway!

Lawlass and I are flying up in the morning. I'll have my work bag with me as I am working at 6pm (at the tennis)

Looks like they've changed the rules - one can still purchase a seat allocation through manage my booking for many of the seats blocked in web check-in.

I'm checking back periodically to see if the blocks clear close to the flight time

<EDIT> my mistake just disregard what I said - I'm thinking of my return journey! It's been a long week and this will be a good chance to decompresss.

You might be going domestic after all if on JQ35, the volcanic ash has got worse now that VAAC have got a clear observation, the dust cloud rules out any approach to DPS from what I can see:

I was on JQ35 a couple of weeks ago and I was surprised at how many pax were flying just to Melbourne. we might be lucky and it will still run!
