My 30k showed up in the app tonight! What have people's experiences been with cancelling? Will obviously wait till they hit my FF account...

I'm also waiting for the pts to be credited to my FF account. Looking at my activity statement, there isn't much of a pattern to what day of the week assure gets credited.

I rang today to cancel and the whole process is automated. I think I went through to the wrong person initially and they referred me to automated service where you enter your policy number and birth date. The machine said they'd confirm by email soon. I was expecting a bit of grovelling, and maybe even an offer of QFF points like when you call to cancel an Amex card.
I'll report back when the offical confirmation comes through of the policy being cancelled.

Still waiting for the points in the app...

Joined on the last day 17th of March so I will give them to next week before I start following up. Did anyone else join on the 17th of March and seen the points in the app yet?

For those who had the 30k post to their QFF, what does the reference say? Mine has a random set of numbers that do not correspond to anything - policy no, date, etc..

me too.. points just posted and its just random no..

For another data point - I signed up on Mar 9 and my points swept across to QFF this morning with a random number in the description.

The cancellation line is now open (from 9am Sydney time) and completely automated.

134960, press 2 for life insurance, 6 for cancellation, enter your policy number and DOB - that's it.

That saved a heap of time, literally took 2 mins! Thanks :)

I've got a bad feeling about this - no points in Assure app. I signed up online March 16 while the promo was running, received the call March 17 but didn't receive the policy pack until March 20 and in it the policy start date is listed as March 20. Does that mean I'm ineligible?

Might need a phone call but if you signed up on the 16th you should be covered! Maybe the application 'rejected' to a manual queue and was input after the 16th (ie the following Monday). They 'should' be able to see this and fix it up. It will just be a pain having to call them :(

Unlikely, you probably just need to wait until the 20th!

From the original T&C: Qantas Points will be credited after the policy has been held for 60 continuous days.

Ok, that's re-Assuring. I would be mortified if I'd been paying $14pm for a junk policy with no point bucket at the end of the 60 day rainbow!

I'll start hassling them next week if I haven't seen anything.
