Apart from Paris being a very gorgeous city, I think the ultimate reason CDG is a very popular to fly in/out of purely because its serviced by the TG A380

As other have said, there's not a lot of options apart from CDG. I love Paris as a city but hated CDG as an airport. The check-in area is incredibly cramped - our SQ A380 checkin line snaked around the corner and actually behind the check-in desks. After check-in it's a very weird design where you go underground to then get to these space-ship like pods where the departure gates. The whole experience is cramped and dated, especially when boarding an A380. The 'secondary' airports of Europe such as ARN, HEL and BCN were a refreshing change in comparison - so modern, spacious, clean and logical!

Thanks for the assistance. I was unaware of the open jaw or stopover rule. If we want to fly bne-Zur-Lhr return, can I stopover on the way back as well? Looking at CDG or do I need to fly to CDG and stopover on ZUR on the way back as CDG is not a hub. How much extra are the LHR taxes .

Just tried to buy some "mystery points" from USDM and instead got AA popping up and "offering" to sell me 60K points at $US1375.
60K is also apparently the annual limit of points you can buy?

Just tried it and it was all normal for me. Dividend Miles + 75%.

I think it's actually $1375 + 7.5% plus $30 when you actually try. Is it good, well its well over 2c/point so not as good as USDM regulay buy offers (1.87c) but it all depends on how you valua AA points.

Hi, Instead of being able to buy USDM the logo said AA and NO bonus offer.
Maybe it's individually selected.
However based on BC's note, I will try again

Hi Everyone, hope someone can help, I am trying to book to JNB and CAI from PER in Jan and note that Egypt Air is showing available on United, Aeroplan and Awardtravlr but the US airways phone staff cant see any availability. I am looking at Egyptair Air MS 840.

I have PER-JNB..... CAI-BKK-SIN-PER in business for 4 pax. Can anyone see a way to get to CAI from JNB? Happy to split party to 2 then 2.

No happy to go to anywhere to get to CAI from JNB. The operator said she couldnt see flight mentioned with Egyptair so waited a bit and rang back, next lady was not happy with difficulty of booking lol but couldnt get me from JNB to CAI in any form from the 13th Jan to the 18th Jan and longer. I dont really want to spend more than a few days in JNB as I want to goto CAI.

You'd think there would be availability that far out wouldn't you, but doesn't seem to be much else up there... Some flights to Mumbai for 2 business from JNB for a few of those days 13/1-18/1 on ANA if they would let you go that far back but then not from BOM direct to CAI so might have to be via somewhere like IST or somewhere?? Didn't check that as getting a bit tired... Seemed to be 1 seat from JNB to CAI via Addis Abbaba or whatever on Ethiopian for a few of the days, but not sure if there are more than that 1 seat each flight and not sure if that airline would be your first choice??? But might have to be an african stop or have you looked at all of those...

Another quick search for 2 J seats on ANA seemed to show availability on several days in that period for JNB-NAI-IST-CAI if they would let you do it.. Even showing 3 seats (with the last leg in Y) so definitely should be able to get 2...

Hi Cas, Thanks for looking for me. She wasnt happy for me to go to BOM then back to CAI. I could see I could get to BOM but not back, will try Nairobi though thanks for that. I couldnt even see anything from JNB to Europe anywhere so maybe as per travelislife comment. I will try again tomorrow and see if there has been an update.
