September :) I even told the agent SIN is the stop and PER is the destination, but she insisted otherwise. Who am I to argue?

We're going to have a window seat each coming over in the A380, then the 2 middle seats coming back.

How did you confirm the seats?

I have 2 x F TG in Aug/Sep return to CDG and Thai site did not allow me to reserve the seats?

Correct. I contacted them via e-mail (details available on the Thai website) using the UK office. No issues and they even confirmed the eTicket numbers against the booking too, so I have it in writing.

I called TG locally (for me, that's Brisbane).

Not sure if it would work or not, but supplied them with the TG PNR that was supplied to me during the US DM booking process, and they managed to add seat selections to my folks' bookings.

One thing is that even though you can select seats like this, they won't be displayed when you retrieve the US DM booking again later on the US DM website (i.e. they'll show whatever was there before you selected seats, viz. a "preselected" seat or no seat). Not sure if anyone has experienced otherwise.

you can view your tg seats on line at tg... go to their premium meal order service... enter the PNR and it brings up the tg flights and seat numbers.

Only my SQ seats are showing. UA & TG aren't. I can only view them by logging into the respective carriers website.

That being said, I have had TG seats show up on my parents bookings April last year.

I think it has something to do with when the ticket is issued... ie maybe the TG seats were assigned before the eticket was issued so USAir site picks them up for your parents.

Does anyone know when USAirways will stop letting members used points on *A redemptions?

not yet. There will be an announcement at some stage of a cut-off for booking. The problem is making changes to bookings once US goes to OW and they probably won't have access to star inventory anymore (although i suppose they can just swap your star award for oneworld)

so what does that equate to?? With the 100% offer you shared 50,000 and got 100,000, so 50,000 for $567.50 or 1.135 cents... So now you would get 25,000 for $567.50 so over 2 cents a point (2.27 cents)...

And so with a 100% buy bonus its 1.75 cents before the 7.5% tax and $30 transaction fee...

So not much chop, cheaper only than buying the points with no bonus...

Wait for better offer....

Go the share promo too

Yep same offer here for April. Will also wait out till the next 100% bonus offer comes around.

50% share offer here too. I purchased 4000 miles on the 31st just to keep the account ticking over.

I also received the 50% share bonus email.

In relation to points value, its slightly cheaper to buy SPG points 20K at US$525 (current April promotion) and then transfer them to USDM where 20K SPG becomes 25K USDM, that's 2.1cpp.

If it was a 75% share bonus, I am sure I would have jumped at it.

I did it (50% share bonus). I know it's a poor value but I'm a bit worried that we may not see 100% bonus offers for a while considering the merger so a bird in hand...

Does anyone know when USAirways will stop letting members used points on *A redemptions?
This merger still need to get regulatory consent, which by reports on other recent US based mergers could take anything up to another 6 months. Until that point the merger is not definite, you have some time to go!
