Flashware - what do you mean, your bonus is jumping from 100% to 25% to 100%?
Did you have a history of past purchases?

From my account I've only ever purchased once (just recently). SWMBO's birthday coming up (it's an important one) so wanted to treat her to first. I already had 140k miles or so, so just needed to top-up. Now to start planning route/flights...

waiting waiting, till they throw open the doors to 100% bonus for everyone.
I know they did it last time...

Bloody USDM. I had 100% bonus on both buy, gift and share. Now I've logged in to actually buy some and it's 25%!
Hi!
I tried to share miles yesterday and got all the way to "pay" without any hint of 100% or any bonus??
i did gift 50,000 last week with 100% bonus ok !!

Fifa how was your first US Divendend miles trip?

I took my 22 year old daughter and we had an absolutely fantastic time. On two different flights the FAs asked if my daughter was a movie star or model (which she isn't) and when they left she said "Mum, they think I'm paying for your trip!" She doesn't know how she'll cope in Y in the future.

It was so good, I have booked another F trip to SFO with a stopover in MUC and home via NRT (21:30hr) in Sep/Oct. But this time Mr Fifa is coming along.
SYD-BKK-FCO F TG
FCO-MUC (stopover)-FRA J LH
FRA-SFO (destination) F UA
SFO-SEA J UA
SEA-NRT F TG
NRT-BKK J TG
BKK-SYD F TG

It was much harder to find availability this time round and I spent a lot of time on AwardTravelr as well as using the ANA and UA redemption search tools.

I'm now hooked ;).

It's a long way to get to SFO ;) And the return SFO-SEA-NRT-BKK-SYD is going to be one big ride home. I do hope there are some longish transits there to pop into the City and stretch the legs.

I love their idea of geography...... I've been told that SIN is the destination and PER is the stopover, so 110k each in F.

(TH) TG931 Paris(CDG) Bangkok(BKK) 13:40 05:55+1 A380 (First)
(FR) TG481 Bangkok(BKK) Perth 07:50 15:35 A330 (Business)
(WE) SQ226 Perth Singapore 15:10 20:35 Boeing 772 (Business)
(SU) UA896 Singapore Hong Kong 06:00 09:55 Boeing 777 (First)
(SU) TG607 Hong Kong Bangkok(BKK) 20:45 22:25 Boeing 744 (First)
(MO) TG930 Bangkok(BKK) Paris(CDG) 00:05 07:05 A380 (First)

Fingers crossed it makes it through the rate desk at that rate, if not, I have enough miles for 150k each!

Maybe they are of the opinion that Perth should never be a destination

Done! $234.25 p/p + $50 booking fee p/p + 110k miles p/p.

Congratulations, that's a great deal!
And two sectors in the A380 - I am envious. When are you travelling?

September :) I even told the agent SIN is the stop and PER is the destination, but she insisted otherwise. Who am I to argue?

We're going to have a window seat each coming over in the A380, then the 2 middle seats coming back.

Well I've just got out of an interesting quandary. I'm currently in South Africa having booked PER-JNB-CPT(dest)-PLZ(stop)-JNB-PER last November. The original booking was PER-JNB-CPT(dest)-JNB(stop)-PER, but after making it I changed it to include Port Elizabeth as above about two weeks after the original booking. Flights from Perth through to Cape Town were great (the hard product for the 11 hour flight from Perth was very nice indeed). But yesterday when my wife and I arrived for our sector to PLZ, the check in desk guy looked very puzzled and asked me if I'd changed the booking - I informed him that apart from seat selection I had a slightly different booking 5 months ago which was changed at the time. I had since confirmed the flights twice directly with South African.

Unfortunately he could see my seats, but said there was no ticket number attached to it. I of course had the ticket number but no dice. Apparently what SAA's system showed was that we missed the CPT-JNB leg (scheduled at an earlier time yesterday), which I had deleted 5 months ago when I changed the itinerary! US Air never properly cleared it from the booking. I was then referred to the ticket sales counter who tried to assist but couldn't get US Air on the phone with the given time. Since we were unable to sort it out prior to the flight departing, I was left with no option but to pay for tickets to PLZ (~$300) to get on the flight.

We were whisked straight to a game reserve after the flight and I've only been able to get on to Skype this afternoon. Whilst I did spend about 20 minutes on the phone (pretty good all told, but nervous given the mercurial internet out here on the reserve), the agent spoke to a supervisor and has re-instituted the booking for the final two legs home. I received brand new ticket numbers (but unfortunately forgot to check if the PNRs were the same). I hope there are now no problems when I arrive at the airport on Saturday (I should probably call South African to confirm).

So there's a story for the data file for everyone, but fortunately it worked out well enough. Next step is to fill out the US Airways 'complaints' form and try to get the $300 refunded for last night's flights.

Meanwhile I'm going to get back to the safari - lions, rhinos, zebra, giraffe and hippos all seen this morning on only the first drive!

Hippos are the danger animal Flashware so don't get too close.
Are you heading for Perth any time soon as I saw your 110k booking?
Are you going to Tim Winton's Matilda opening night in New York? That would wow your partner if you are chasing brownie points.
