Flying out of Perth to Europe, and wanting to fly in J, do you think they would let you use any other options than Thai or maybe SIA???

Obviously flying out of Sydney would give you more options eg Asiana etc, but would probably require flying via NZ first and then to Sydney and then a greater choice of airlines to fly longer routes and enjoy J for longer... But would they insist pretty strictly that the shortest route must be used via BKK or SIA...

And does anyone know where some good example itineraries might be using these tickets, I would like to book my dad a return J fare to Europe somewhere with a stop over to the US...

C'mon... a quick reading of the rules will show you that travel between the south west pacific and Europe is NOT permitted via thee US.

You could fly to the US via Europe, but if exPER then you will certainly not be allowed to go PER-SKL-SYD-INC-Europe-US and return.

You are limited to 8 segments total for your itinerary.

Also again, you may be able to get SIA out of PER to SIN and BKK but an onwards connection from there to Europe, unless travelling on the SQ25/26 (while it operates as a 747) will not be possible as premium seats are not available for redemption on SQ 77Ws or A380s.

Rather than fly to SYD or AKL you can route via BKK to ICN or NRT on your way to Europe. Checkk out the star alliance webstite for valid routings and connections.

To clear things up I'm not wasting my time I'm actually working and bored so it helps past the time . Furthermore If I find an agent who gives me everything
I want I will pay for it. I have miles already purchased . If I only needed two seats
Wouldn't be a problem
But because I need 4 I have to put hold reservation for 2 call back get another two at the same price I was a inch away with my last booking. Calling is free my time wait at work makes it
More interesting , you guys have to understand everyone's situation is different.

Any questions you have ask away

In regards to the incorrect pricing of miles 90k in J I would leave it I have had many in correct quotes an told that if it was ticketed then nothing can be done but because it hasn't been paid for they can cancell it .
I would leave it if I was you

This is bad advice.

US airways can, and do, audit accounts periodically. Particularly for new members. They can cancel tickets. They have done before.

The risk may not be high, but for $275 are you going to chance losing your whole itinerary?

having a ticket is not necessarily a protection. Reservations can be cancelled even though you have a valid ticket. If you turn up at the airport and your reservation has been cancelled, then you might still find yourself unable to fly.

Talking about US Airways, on their FFP, am a Platiumn Miles, when i arrived into VA lounge in Melb today, enquired about the match status promotion they are running at the moment, told that US Airways are not on their hit list, when asked for the list of FFP VA are handing out match status found Royal Burnei, Vietnam Airlines, United, plus others that don't fly to this part of the world. Yet US Airways do market down here on a share code arrangement with star alliance carriers SQ + NZ...

Ok, with some playing around on the ANA tool I've found the following:
2/8 TG482 Perth Bangkok(BKK)
16:50 22:40 330

2/9 TG916 Bangkok(BKK) London(LHR)
12:25 18:30 744

2/18 TG911 London(LHR) Bangkok(BKK)
12:30 06:05
+1 744

2/20 TG223 Bangkok(BKK) coughet
19:20 20:40 773
2/21 TG485 coughet Perth
00:35 07:50 330

That looks like it would be a valid itinerary... 1 stop in London (the main trip) and then a stop over in Bangkok on the way home?

That's searching on availability for 2 people. Would I ring up and ask for it to be searched as that, or as 2 separate trips (as each account will need to purchase the 120k miles each)?

clearly state at the beginning of the call that you have two passengers travelling and the miles will come from two separate accounts. The agent can then decide to split the PNRs from the outset.

Doing it later, via an inexperienced agent, can result in the seats for one pax being cancelled while they try to rebook them. Not a good idea. :)

Great, will get on the phone shortly and book. Are they open 24 hours for award bookings? *am checking the website now*

yes they are 24 hours.

you may like to begin the call saying you have previously checked for some availability with a colleague of theirs and have some flights. they may take those off you.

otherwise if you want to see what they offer you then just give them the origin and destination... they may route you via ZRH or FR on LX or LH (both interesting and different than thai all the way)

Super, thanks! Will give that a try.

Nice free-call from Skype.

Has anyone flown in F and J out of SYD on TG or SQ is it worth the extra money what's the differences

Including time of going through the voice driven menus, etc. total call time was 14 minutes. Flights are now on hold so all that needs to be done now is to purchase the miles and off we go! Too easy.

Is it OK to purchase the extra 20,000 straight away? When purchasing the selection box still shows 20+20. Do you just select that and it will just not award the bonus ones? Or do I need to wait a little while for the 50+50k to post?

the 50+50 will post straight away. just log out of your account and back in.

I would then try to GIFT between your two accounts. the current promo is not clear on whether you can buy and gift and get bonus for both. some people have reported they have been successful.

if you can then you will save a bit of cash.

Would rather just spend the little extra to be sure.. 'tis for an important event.

All miles are now showing in the account :) Ringing back to confirm the flights now.

Good stuff Flashware - How did you buy the remaining 20K points?

The agent I'm speaking to seems rather clued in, which is good. He said the taxes are showing as $441 USD which seems a bit high, so he's going to re-price.

Flights are PER-BKK-LHRx-LHR-BKKx-HKT-PER all in J.
