Had a couple of friends who have confirmed itineraries with MH flights on them.

I think a couple on this forum have too booked itineraries with MH flights on them.

Hi yes my inlaws are flying LHR - KUL - PER with MH in September.

Update....

Finally after 4 calls today I have a confirmed booking on MH.

Kristen from South Carolina got the job done (1hr 40min call)

I will post in the Successful thread :) Thanks for all your help.

Out of interest how quickly did the miles go out of your account? Made a booking last week which included some flights on MH. Cash taken, confirmation email received and everything showing on the booking section of the US Airways site.

Other carrier flights (QF and BA) which are part of the booking are showing as confirmed on the QF website and on Checkmytrip. Interestingly for the MH flights the booking reference numbers are 5 digits rather than 6 and cannot from what I can see be checked online (via the MH website or Checkmytrip). Instead I called MH today and got confirmation that these flights were indeed confirmed and ticketed.

However six days on and no miles have been taken from either of the two accounts used. From memory mile withdrawal has been immediate when I've completed previous bookings pre the switch to One World. They can't have forgotten to take the points can they?!!

Indeed they can have forgotten to take the points :)

It has happened plenty of times.

If you call USDM they can fix that.

I'll get on to it right away :)

It it is normally immediate though right?

yes it should be almost immediate.

the miles would be 'dead' miles anyway. USDM has the right to take those miles at any time. So they can't be shared or otherwise used.

Just double checking.... has anyone actually booked and confirmed a ticket for Malaysia Air.

I tried probably 4 times with no luck, the one time I actually got a agent who had an idea my Skype call dropped out half way through!

Can you get back to an agent by requesting them again or do they have an ext. number?

I did.

SYD MEL KUL CDG
CDG KUL SYD

In 20 min, all done & paid for.

No problem !

I've got HKG-(yvr)-jfk-mia-SJU-clt-LAX-HKG on hold in F @ 120K and J @ 110K. I thought it would be 90K in J but now realise that Hong Kong is North Asia so it's actually 110K.

I really want to get this down to 90K for the J ticket so I'll need to start (and end) in South Asia. What's a good location that connects to HKG that can match in with the fact that I need a positioning flight(s) to HKG by 1am 18/11/14 from MEL to link in with the first flight of that award and I am intending to use AA miles to get MEL-HKG in CX J (or the 'new HKG' as the replacement starting point).

I'm thinking SIN and get a CX SIN-HKG flight as the start of the award, throw away the final HKG-SIN at the end (because I must to finish in HKG) and try and get a MEL-(xx_)-SIN on QF or BA. Or is it possible to get MEL-HKG-SIN on CX using AAdvantage?

Appreciate your thoughts! Thanks :)

you say you have two sets seats on hold, one in F and one in J? that's for two passengers right?

Would this route fit MPM:

CBR SYD LAX JFK LAS (<24 hours or not if they say only 4 hrs), SFO LAX SYD CBR, as I'd like to get further north up the west coast as a jump off to Alaska.

Currently just ticketed for CBR SYD LAX and return.

With JFK as your destination,
CBR-JFK MPM is 12,123. 25% is 15,153.

Outbound CBR-SYD-LAX-JFK is 10,120 which is fine.
Return JFK-LAS-SFO-LAX-SYD-CBR is 10,643 which is also fine.

The only thing I would look into is if there is a nonstop LAS-SFO available (might need to connect in LAX).

Many thanks Kangol,

I'd like to stop in SFO. I'd also like to work in going JFK (LAS can get dropped), to somewhere as far north as possible.

does anyone know why US Airways may have problems with seeing MH award seats? Im looking at getting from SYD to LED in May 2015, I can see plenty of MH J and F seats between SYD, KUL and LHR (and then a BA J seat to get me to LED) but I've just spoken to two different agents and both said they could not see anything at all, not even in economy....I'm puzzled

or is it the trick when you tell them to go to their "general availability system" rather than "dividend miles system"?

any thoughts?

?

I have tried to book tix at approx 350 days out and US airways said that they can only book tixs 340 days out even if we can see them. I called twice and got the same message and was told it didn't matter what airline u r trying to book their system just won't do it.

I thought they could book this far out. Maybe that is the reason why they can't see the flights u are after

no, no, it's not the reason, I was looking at departure on 03 May 2015 which is under the 330 days mark. They can see the flights but cannot see any seats
