US Dividend Miles - Oneworld Award Booking Questions and General Discussion

I've found that sometimes the award calendar really struggles when you start asking it for F seats (does anyone else find that?). I've found you can also use the the aa.com award search function to check the qantas one and it usually lines up pretty well with what qantas shows (when the calendar's working properly). I reckon see what you can find then call up and give it a go putting it on hold - thats the only real way you'll know whether the seats are bookable :)

Thanks flippant flyer that would explain why I couldn't see a single F qantas seat. I will try the aa search engine too

no, that's just generally F awards on QF! :)

definitely recommend using AA as an initial search tool as IMO it gives a better overview than the QF tool.

maybe it's because one tool doesn't mind you finding seats. The other makes it positively difficult to do so.

Right now. The OW award chart has always said BA/IB YQ will be collected (so this is not a program change or devaluation)...it seems that it's now actually happening.

Just wondering are these charges imposed for all flights? How about if you are in transit and its not your final destination do you still have to pay these charges?

Yes. Don't confuse them with UK departure taxes - you don't need to pay them if you transiting through LHR

Is everyone else finding it impossible to get through to an agent due to weather issues at the moment? I've tried calling at all hours but keep getting told to try calling again later. This is using the +1 800 428 43 22 number.

I posted in the other thread, but yes, I have had the same issue. I've gotten connected twice actually, but first time I didn't have my flights in order (that was maybe a week ago), and 2nd time, the agent hung up on me...

Im calling the same number.

Quick question, that I think I know the answer to. Can we use USDM to book on dragonair? I'm assuming not as per jetstar etc, but thought it worth the question.

they can book dragonair.

there's no similarity between dragonair and jetstar.

dragonair is a oneworld affiliate. jetstar is not.

Dragonair is a fully integrated alliance member affiliate of oneworld member, Cathay Pacific. They are perfectly bookable with US DM.

Just double checking.... has anyone actually booked and confirmed a ticket for Malaysia Air.

I tried probably 4 times with no luck, the one time I actually got a agent who had an idea my Skype call dropped out half way through!

Can you get back to an agent by requesting them again or do they have an ext. number?

not that i know of. there are a number of call centres i believe (and I think also some agents work from home IIRC)

Had a couple of friends who have confirmed itineraries with MH flights on them.

I think a couple on this forum have too booked itineraries with MH flights on them.

Ok, back to my earlier Dragonair question. Has anybody any experience of booking awards with them? The flight out of Hong Kong into the Philippines (Clark for onward travel to Subic Bay) I am looking at shows as an award available on QF, but not on BA, JAL or even Asia miles! Its an economy only flight and (whilst I realise its no indicator of award availability) is maybe 5% full. KVS errors with unsupported route/invalid cabin class on BA, JAL, CX searches. So all in I'm assuming QF is just ghost availability, but do dragonair release seats closer to departure (13/6)? Or maybe they just have flights that are no go for award booking.... I could just fly to Manila but was trying to avoid the nightmare that is Manila traffic. Clark cuts hours out of the journey.
Any thoughts gratefully received.

I have personally booked and traveled using USDM on an MH flight out of Brisbane in the last 2 weeks. coughpy J product but did the job.

Hi, I've tried to book flights from Sydney to Cape Town and have been told US Airways are still in negotiations with One World airlines for these sectors. Anyone have any information about booking these sectors?
