thanks for the info - you're allowed one stopover per leg right? So I could stopover in HKG on the way there and LAX on the way back?

No. One stopover for the entire itinerary.

thanks. I've revised my planned itinerary to SYD to JFK (CX, destination), JFK to LAX (AA, stopover) LAX to SYD (via HKG, CX, QF)

Just a question about those stopovers, whats the maximum transit time? Eg: can you plan for a 16h transit in HKG and pop out for a stroll/bite and head back to the airport?

Stopovers:

Less than 24 hours if travel is between different zones

No more than 4 hours if travel is solely within continental USA/Canada

USDM won't get you on Air Canada. Will get you to Vancouver on CX. And even from YVR to JFK (on CX services). But otherwise you'd need to make own arrangements outside oneworld.

Thanks for the responses :)

have on hold CNS-HKG-EWR//YVR-CNS-HKG will pay for a side trip to YYC otherwise it was double the amount of travel time to go via JFK-ORD-YYC. very helpful agent:)

YVR-CNS hey? :P

I miss those 23hr stopovers in BKK :(

So do I and availability of TG F. While not as easy, long transit in BKK so still possible. Eg:
SYD-BKK (QF)
BKK-HKG-xx_ (CX)

Or if the QF BKK has no seats & traveling to Europe ,
SYD-KUL/HKG (MH or CX)-BKK
BKK-DOH-xx_ (QR)

Not the same without TG F lounge access.
That's my favourite part of the stopover ;)

Thank you.

Does a list exist showing this information for the other oneworld partners?

Not sure if I imagined it or not, but did someone say that I access the BKK lounge inbound from SYD? I have a 26 hour or so transit with an early flt to HKG - TPE - GUM the next day, so not the best conditions to make the most of the lounge.

If you are arriving TG F your buggy will escort you to immigration and baggage claim.

If you want to use the lounge, you will need (a) an onwards boarding pass and (b) to ask the buggy to drop you off at the transit escalator (if they ask 'why?' say you are meeting friends or something). You will then need to make you way past the transit security checkpoint.

After you have used the lounge, you would need to then inform them that you wish to enter thailand, and they will make arrangements. Your luggage? If you have any, that will have been unattended for some time and there is a risk with that.

Thank you.

Not really.
US Airways reservation system goes 335 days out, at this point you can see pretty much all OneWorld partner seats bar AA, LAN (both 330 days), MH and S7 (not sure how many days). If you do a search on Flyertalk you should be able to find this info

Thanks, all good advice. Not happy re unattended luggage ... I wonder if as I am at the lounge in a meeting, the buggy man might bring the case to me.
