US Dividend Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here.

I think Shanye is having a bit of a joke with us!!

The taxes for a single ticket could not be $900.

I suspect this might be for 3 or 4 tickets! SWP-GUM or something like that, in which somehow travel has been allowed via the USA!!

So given the political situation in Egypt at the moment, the Diddy's decided to jump ship and rebook this trip. Took 3 calls but 2 were disconnected by the VOIP at home. It was quite tough finding flights but managed to sneak in some good ones I think anyway:

SYD-BKK TG F
BKK-NRT TG Y - only Y available but will look out for more availability
NRT-CDG NH F
CDG-BKK TG F
BKK-SYD TG F

There will be some side trips mixed in there but happy to have got something sorted out so close to Jan. They refunded the miles (160K) and then we paid 150K. Booking fee was waived as this was a change. Taxes went from $172 to $250 + $150 change fee.

All in all not a bad result and a pretty painless experience with the CSA "Liz".

Just a quick update on this itin I booked a few months ago. Just saw that BKK - NRT opened up with F availability so rang US Airways to do a "correction of cabin" from Y to F.

Took 4 phone calls as I had a range of uninformed agents claiming everything from a complete re-ticketing to having limited functionality due to the merger :O

On the last call I spoke to the supervisor who managed to upgrade that leg without re-ticketing the whole booking. So now we have the following:

SYD-BKK TG F
BKK-NRT TG F
NRT-CDG NH F
CDG-BKK TG F
BKK-SYD TG F

No charges or change fee and one very happy Diddy :)

That's an impressive itinerary.
A TR of NH F would be interesting.

Agreed Fifa - Lots of options open up to both EU and US when you can route via NRT. I should add that CDG is the destination and BKK is the stopover.

Would normally do a TR but AFF has a restriction on picture uploads and I have hit my limit :(

Any reason you didn't do BKK-CDG instead? Availability?

Yep, there was no availability at the time - when we originally booked back in September there was only Y availability for both CDG and FRA. Can now see J availability for CDG and F to FRA on the 340.

When I saw the NRT option I thought it would also be a good opportunity to try the new "inspiration of Japan" fc suite on the 777-300ER. Mind you if there was F direct to CDG I would have taken it

Just booked a guam trip in April on thai and other airlines.
There has been a huge improvement in the Thai website now.
Once you have the booking ref you can select seats online now. No more ringing up for them.
i even reserved the seats on my asiana air flights.
