US Dividend Miles - post your SUCCESSFUL award bookings here.

I am doing the same return from FRA-ICN-BKK-SYD but using LH F instead of OZ. When are they going would ove to hear a trip report on OZ F from FRA to ICN:)

Excellent thanks Alan will look now:) I chose LH to get FT access but might regret it depending on whether LH update their aircraft prior to my departure in August

I should post that I have booked:
1) TG F: Syd-Bkk-Lhr (dest)-Bkk (stopover)-Syd for my parents: 150K US miles + USD 472.63 each (damn Lhr premium tax!)

Just placed on hold for my girlfriend and her friend to go to London, with routing of:-

Outbound: SYD-xBKK-LHR with TG F

Inbound: LHR-xFRA-xICN-BKK (stop) with LH J, OZ F, TG J ... then BKK-SYD TG F

Taxes were $452.xx + service fee per person. Does this sound a bit too much? or did the LHR APD apply for the whole LHR-xFRA-ICN given the 2h 35m FRA transit.
I think this is the the LHR APD in play....

If you want to avoid the UK APD any enroute stop has to be 24hr + so yes you are paying it for LHR- BKK.

How do you guys find award LH F availability >14 days out? or are the above flights booked within 14 days of travel? Would love to fly LF F out of Fra but need more notice than 14 days prior... Or are you booking J first, then changing award if F becomes available during the 14 day window...

LH F availability is 14 days prior to departure. Although being 'available' doesn't necessarily mean US will be able to see it too.

You can book J and change to F later. If you have a J ticket with J mileage, then the itinerary will be cancelled and they will need to rebook. If you have some sectors already in F and have paid F mileage, then depending on the agent they can make the change for you (USD150). If an agent tells you they have to cancel the entire itinerary in this case you should call again.

That I think is the only way it's possible...and you probably need to be ticketed at the F award level already to make this easier.

Plus many people still have trouble getting LH F seats indicated as available by ANA etc...US/LH seem to have an issue with that. There is a rule of thumb often mentioned that if you want to get that single LH F seat you will have to find 2F available or US will struggle.

kpc,

I booked mine mid september last year for July deperature this year..so a long way out. This was before LH got tight with it's award space from what I've read. I'm glad I booked it then as it seems very hard to book now.

Cheers for the tips MEL_Traveller.
The 2nd US Airways Agent was very good. No problems.

She was surprised that l had flight numbers/dates ready to go. Made her job easier.

The FRA-BKK sector on ANA Mileage showed F Class, but not on her screen. She did a little searching, and found one for me a few days later. Happy with the whole process. 2nd call took 45 minutes all up.
