Yep, that's exactly it! Then you can glare at each other across the aisle :D

Ha Ha. After our flights we are in each others pockets for weeks so it's nice to have some time alone ;).
At least we can dine together if we feel the need.

Yes, that's the 1 bonus it has over the A380. The bench/table on the A380 is just too small to accommodate 2 PAX.

I agree - we have had them once and I felt like we were in a fishbowl.

We now favour 1A & 1K - feels like our own private cabin with no-one walking past.

Thanks for all the seat suggestions. We have stuck with 2E/2F as there were no other combination of seats that would allow us to be next to each other.

Hopefully TG F isn't as bad as you have made it out to be!! :p

There's not really such a thing as a bad F seat ;)

whoa!! them's fighting words :)

I think there are several 'bad' (less than desirable) first class seats... row 2 and 4 on QF 747s; row 1 on any US carrier 777 (no curtains and galley light/noise); TG 747s specifically row 2EF; TG a340 row 1 and 2 centre seats; CX 777s row 1 DK.

Well this will be my first F flight - so I will only be comparing against Y... :)

you see then I'd be taking something like row 1 for a window seat (to be able to see forward on the plane is a unique experience!). There is a companion seat on TG to dine together.

But i can understand wanting to sit next to someone.... row 3 would be better though. Row 2 really is.. 'uncomfortable'.

Uncomfortable in what way?

My partner and I have two long haul flights in Thai F on the 744 (older flat beds not suites) with 2E and 2F pre-selected. There were no other seat pairs available for selection as 1A, 1K and 3F are all blocked on both flights.

the seats have no privacy as it is, and 2EF are made worse by being completely out in the open with nothing behind them or on the side (such as a wall!).

Pax sitting in those seats are completely exposed... take off your socks and people are staring at your feet (indeed I think i saw a picture of someone's yukky feet taken that way). You also have no control over window shades - so if everyone has their blinds up and you want to watch your IFE you have to put up with the glare. Want to sleep? you have people walking past your face maybe an inch or two from you. (At least by the window you can turn and face inwards).

preferred seats on the TG 747 (for me at least) would be 1AK/3AK. Of for couples travelling together 3EF followed by one behind the other (so 2A/3A, or 2K/3K).

As someone pointed out above, 2EF are a bit gold-fish-bowl. On my last flight a couple sat down there and immediately requested to move back to row 3EF.

Thanks, that does make some sense based on the seat map and the seat styles.

Have made changes - the best I could do with the blocks in there was 2A + 3A on the first and 3A + 3E on the second

We've sat in 2e/f on 10F TG and didn't notice anyone looking at us, didn't feel exposed etc.... so don't stress about it, you'll love it no matter where in the cabin you are sitting :)

To the OP: We are on TG607 in F next week HKG-BKK and it is 9F cabin... When is your flight that is suppose to be 10F?

I rang up again to request 1A/K because that did sound amazing... but unfortunately neither they nor 3E/F were available. So I left it as is.

<shrugs> I suppose we will have to make do with 2E/F in F : p

TG600 on 8th July BKK-HKG leaving at 8am.

Actually can someone check the seat availability on that flight - that last call to Thai was quite disjointed and I was unsure if the CSA and I were talking about the same flight!
