VA Points / SC Credits - Anyone notice how slow it has become recently

Flew J on Singapore Airlines - Hong Kong - Singapore 19th May; Singapore to Brisbane 20th May (same PNR just clicked over past midnight, so next day).

Hong Kong to Singapore leg credited within 48 hours - had to wait 14 days to do point claim for missing SIN-BNE leg - 12 days since claim put in with no action by Virgin - just rang to see what was going on was told that it will take 4-6 weeks for them to investigate.

FFS Virgin - it is the same PNR and same fare rules, I have the boarding pass and having a look in my Krisflyer account they transferred the points to Velocity on the 20th of May the day of the flight - So 4-6 weeks to confirm from escalation point is just taking the piss! (= 2 and half months from date of flight)

Not impressed at all!

Yes you will be screwed. I flew a getaway with business return. The flights credited automatically after 4 days - so I move from not fixed to maybe fixed.

Back to the point. the base points for both flights was averaged, or perhaps split, to give an equal base for both flights. The status bonus for the business leg was calculated only on that average base point amount. end result some of the business fare cost was applied to the getaway flight and didn't get status bonus. About 600 point short at my end. Working up the courage to call.

Turns out so. Hadn't realised it was, and had forgotten about the lack of bonus on getaway.

I'm waiting for my return flexi to post, but it looks suspiciously like I've been screwed.

I often fly out saver and back flexi, but points are always posted equal for both legs and they just divide total fare in 2 for calculating. It looks like this will still occur, but as my outbound fare was probably $300 but my inbound $650, I'm being under bonused. In future I'll have to book legs individually which is a PITA.

7 minute phone call to fix the wrong status bonus. operator seemed to be aware of the problem

My mum and I flew BNE-SIN 20/05 and SIN-BNE 31/05, waited the two weeks and had no action. Put in a claim for the first flight, waited a week. No action. Put in another claim for that plus the claim for the second flight last week. No action. I credited straight to VA though.

I'd be calling to the Customer Care team then...manual intervention might be required as both flights were in May (the period when things were going downside up at VA)

I'm still waiting on 7/6 as well and getting an error when I go to try and do a Retro Claim... fun.

I had the same issue for a flight on 7/6.

Email [email protected] with your, the flight and the ticket details - they manually added the points and SCs for me surprisingly quickly given how poorly the system was otherwise working.

Re: Posting of points

Had a few DL flights from the 10th of the month.

Every one since the 12th posted in about 40 hours. Those from 10th and 11th ... Nothing ... So will be claiming

Re: Posting of points

This situation is just plain bizarre. International partner flights as I've posted before are coming through in 3-10 days but domestic I now put a manual claim in on the day of my flight to force them through after waiting up to 3 weeks for one domestic leg / but the other leg posted in 7 days?!?

THEN after reading another posters comments on bonus points, went back and checked my bonus points / none have posted for any domestic flight in last month BUT international partner flights are fine.

Seriously. Over. This.

The problem is often that the cheap Getaway fares don't offer a status bonus.

Don't fly on getaway.... have emailed a list of flights to Velocity. Will see what happens.

Re: Posting of points

I flew Virgin America on the 9 June (nothing has appeared) then flew Virgin America on the 16 June the SCs and points for the 2nd flight credited earlier this week.

Wanting to know how much the first flight credits in SCs then I can plan what I need to book to keep Silver status for another 12 months.

It will mean the difference to buying a business fare out of the Gold Coast or being able to buy a economy flexi fare out of Brisbane. (only one way will be needed)

In the spirit of KISS, I used the retro email to claim the flights on a single booking including the original e-ticket email and a scan of the BP - this last Saturday.

An auto email reply was received strait away.

Late Tuesday morning a 'manual' email arrived and the proper credit was on account.

I've got the same issue - getaway on one leg, business on the other. $900 total ticket consisting of $750 J fare and $150 getaway. Of course VA just split it in half rather than allocating correctly per sector. Not sure why this is so hard for them, they can allocate the SC's correctly.

Anyway I worked out how it should be and sent it to platinum@velocity. First of all I got a reply saying the problem was because of family pooling (huh?). I replied saying they've totally ignored everything I wrote, can they please look at it again. The next reply said they cannot discuss it due to security (huh?) and I need to call in. Basically fobbed off. Haven't had a chance to call as I've been too busy, and something tells me it's going to be a frustrating experience.

That platinum email address is a waste of time now, my last 3 interactions on simple requests have been mishandled, I suspect it just goes to the standard Phillipines team who don't know what they are doing.

Flew ADL - MEL last Friday and returned on the Sunday . It's now Friday and nothing has been credited into my account. I booked on their website , was a VA number , on their aircraft and yet seven days later no SC or points. Its embarrassing for Virgin

Still waiting for HA flights from last month to credit. Have emailed VA and corresponded with the same person several times but apparently now we just wait....

I have a SQ Missing Points claim from the 28th June and no response. Is this normal? They are normally really quick

I also have some flybuys points with 15% bonus for an auto transfer at the end of last month which has not been credited yet.

Its all very hit and miss which is strange for what should be an automated system. One week I had the points and credits within 3 days, the next week on the same route and 7 days later Im still waiting..
