Vaccine Rollout in Australia - personal accounts.

Me: 2 x non-dominant
Hubby: first dominant, second non-dominant

The nurse administering his first vax insisted on using the dominant arm as she said you move it around more and that makes it more effective. Sounded a bit unlikely to me, but as he had no reaction to either AZ (nor did I), it did not matter.

Always Non dominant but have to have blood draws from dominant as the veins not so good on non side.

Non dominant arm, although im pretty ambidextrous for most things so wouldn't have mattered.the localise dull ache was not sufficient to stop any normal activity. Jab one main effect was a mild head ache that evening, jab too was no energy on day 2, a need for an extra 12 hours of sleep.

The nurses at the hub asked if i was right or left handed, then asked me to roll up sleeve on the non dominant side. I guess you could opt for dominant arm if you wanted.

Non dominant for both AZ - wouldn't have even known I'd had an injection bother times

For me it was dominant arm both times because I encountered the same nurse both times and she was adamant that because of "OH&S" she could only jab one side - for me it was the dominant side. I suspect it was the layout of her space affecting the ergonomics of left side vs right side jabbing. She was keen to keep the layout as is. The chair I was sitting on had to be in a certain place.....

I learnt very early on never argue with the nurses 🤣 (secondly especially one brandishing a needle)

I had both in my left arm because I write with my right arm although I use my left arm for a lot of tasks - cleaning teeth, chopsticks, unscrewing jars, etc.

Were you Vaxxed in dominant or non dominant arm?
Anyone in the leg?
1 x AZ in dominant arm at my request. I always feel like moving the arm minimises the pain, plus I like to sleep on my side - lying on the non-dominant arm. I did have a bit of pain at the injection site but I am glad I went dominant arm. I have my second shot on Thursday this week and will definitely get it in my dominant arm.

My local GP is apparently now only doing AZ one day a week. That was the day I booked in for so my appointment hasn't been shifted, but a friend was booked in for a different day and has had to move the appointment forward a few days (though it will still be over 11 weeks since the first dose).

Took 12 year old mstrandye3 along to the Olympic Park Hub this morning. Both impressed by the organisation and efficiency.

I just got my appointment reminder for AZ #2 tomorrow afternoon. Feeling happy to get it completed with a 12 week gap.
Nice. I should get my reminder in a couple of days. My reminder for my first dose was sent out 1 business day prior to my appointment.

Looking forward to getting my AZ #2 after a 12 week gap as well.
