Expiry of 2 September 2012. Have 2 VA flights booked (actually 1 booked and another to be booked) this month....

Check the BNE Virgin Lounge opening thread as there was an offer that gave 2 complimentary lounge passes to SYD/MEL/BNE, but I’m not sure if it’s ended or not yet.

Well, my BMI Gold has been matched but only to Gold, that's a shame. Still, gives me a chance to try them out and will do so on my next trip home to Australia.

Edit: have just finished reading this thread in it's entirety and now see the required segments on DJ metal, looks like renewal may end up being out of reach now for those of us not based in .au

The status match was supposed to be as well

I fly on Wednesday and sincerely hope that I'm Gold by then. Otherwise, I'm going to head straight to the lounge when I land and kick some status match butt...

Emailed details for status match on Thursday late afternoon (5pm). Received email Friday evening saying "your application has been received". Showing as Platinum when I checked 10min ago on the Web site... Seems pretty efficient.
I'm also flying Wed (SYD/MEL/SYD) with VA.

I'm still on DJ "member" so flights tomorrow back to QF.... No point in wasting points. 309 on DJ as "member" vs 1000 on QF for CAN-MEL... x2 this week.

It sure is fun watching others say my status match came through. Enjoy!

Why would you not get bonus points, the status match at the lounge would be effective the day you did it, and the system should pick it up! A manual adjustment later is also possible and has been done in the past, not a biggie, at the end of the day DJ are saying it is not instant after all!

I admire your optimism.

Anyway I remembered I had that Amex QF return "free" flight remaining so that was really my main reason for using QF this week, and not DJ. Unless they want to match that as well??? (NO, I don't want ANOTHER amex, just being silly, before anyone starts making suggestions...)

Excuse me, but in no way have I been putting people down. If you think I have, I'm sorry, but I think you need to be clear where that has been happening.

Regarding my comments on your optimism, if that is where you think I was "putting people down", I was actually being sincere. And further to that, it's good that it turns out you weren't being optimistic and that your comments were actually derived from experience.

I have not experienced this level of efficiency, neither has Mrs maninblack. One week and no cigar. Makes you wonder what methodology they are using for the processing of these applications.
