After the last couple of weeks, we moderators don't want things to digress again and are taking a more proactive approach to moderation. Talking nicely to one another about our experiences is exactly what we want to see...and nobody is immune from our wrath.

I did like to see your first part of that initial comment, that was nice!

Fair enough, but I was actually referring to another poster's comment about "kicking butt", AND my comments about intimidating staff were actually meant in an ironic tone, hence the shocked icon etc.... I think you'll see that all my comments on DJ on this thread have been positive (except for not getting my status match as quickly as some others...)

I also note that nothing was said or moderated about the "kicking butt" comment in the first place.... Now that strikes me as a bit inconsistent.

And I think the recent comments on DJ security at Melbourne were digressing WAY more than this.

Now, rant over. I'll be quiet now and go back to being a good boy, and won't make any more jokes.

Seems a bit random - I read in previous posts that other members had status matches done within 2-3 business days... Did you get an acknowledgement email?
 
I just got a small parcel from Virgin, turns out Annette from the BNE lounge heard I made Platinum, she sent me...

Welcome letter from Phil Gunther, looks like it's been signed by him personally,
Temp Platinum Card,

To me it looks like Virgin still has plenty of love to give ;)
 
The confirmation email of my Platinum status match just came through.

Not sure if the package has followed suit - doubt it - I give it about another business week (not that I am in desperate need of it anyway). Not expecting a signed Luke Mangan book, but at least I can add to my numerous bag tags adorning my carry-ons.

Are the 'new' tags still embossed with your name on them? From some pictures it seems the answer is 'no'....

Strangely I just received the Welcome to Platinum email too. Must have sent out a batch.

The new tags aren't embossed, but they do have your name printed on them under a laminate. I prefer them to the old embossed ones, especially with the metal rope.

Cards should take about two weeks from status showing in your account I've been told.
 
I believe everyone should get a signed Luke Mangan book - in the interests of consistency. :)

Just curious why you are a Qantas Gold but are now Virgin Platinum, or was this not through the match process?

I earned Velocity Platinum by flying, not through a status match.

(Yes, it is possible to fly on both sides of the fence.)

Hi - just interested to know about how long it is taking for the matches to come through. Sent mine in for Platinum Friday a week ago, and my wife for Gold a week ago.
Not in a massive rush, more interest really.
