Still no match for me 12 days after mrsdrron received hers. Both applied very early 26th.

Status match has come through, now to wait for new card etc. Travel upcoming in November. Have similar QF travel also so will be an interesting comparison. I know there's a TR currently but it will be a similar experience for me BNE-SYD-BNE and Mel-BNE-MEL with one in each direction on both trips for direct comparison. Not an enormous sample size, but hopefully enough to give me a taste.

My father's Gold status match went through this afternoon.

Submitted September 2nd
Showed in Account September 13th

I assume he'll receive a 'Welcome to Gold' E-mail within the next 48hrs?

As an update: we have received a large number of Status Match applications. As you would appreciate, these take a great deal of time to process. We have added overtime staff over this past weekend to increase the number processed applications and many of you would have been upgraded as a result of this.

In terms of prioritisation, we do prioritise based on both tier and date.

Virgin Australia,

Appreciate there's a large amount of applications to go through, and that's one reason I haven't rang up to query the status of my application. Technically, it's still within the 4 weeks that the fine print has outlined.

In terms of prioritising applications, I applied to march to Platinum on the 27th - near the beginning of this promotion. Yet, I've heard nothing while others here applied later and/or matching to lower status have had their applications completed.

Should I ring up and query?

Thanks.

I never received the welcome to gold email. And it's been nearly 2 weeks since they matched me. I applied online and was already a velocity member. Got matched in about a week

I joined Velocity on Sunday 11/9 and straight away applied to status match Platinum for Marco Polo Diamond.
Logged onto Velocity today and it says I am Platinum with a review date 13/9/12.
I haven't seen any confirmation email yet.

Well received an email tonight wanting more info-unfortunately when i copy my online statement the platinum part doesn't print-tried several times. Also no way to scan my card.
fortunately i keep my emails and have a couple mentioning my status plus my life time plat email so hopefully that will be fine.

Try a screen shot straight into an email from the summary section!

Re: What Does The Noob Status Matched QFF Need to Look Out For?

How does one get one of those awesome Velocity bag tags that have been pictured recently?

I got my Velocity pack in the mail just now (platinum status match) but all it contained was my red velocity rewards card.

Re: What Does The Noob Status Matched QFF Need to Look Out For?

Did the pack indicate you had DJ WP status?
Actually, no, it doesn't. Although the web site does indicate WP status.

Maybe this was just an automated welcome pack for joining up and the WP pack will come later?

The Your summary section will have Platinum at least twice in the middle!

Very happy. The DJ SG pack arrived today, fully acquitting the match cycle well within the time promised. So my summary is:

Date and time of Status Match Application dispatch: Thur Aug 28 16:35
Date and time of Status Match Application receipt acknowledgement: Thur Aug 16:35
Date and time of Status Match Application confirmation: Thur Sep 1 15:58 (review date Aug 30)
Status Match Submitted / Received: Qantas Gold - Velocity Gold
Date and time of Pack arrival: Wed Sep 14

By the way Virgin: very impressed with the pack design. Someone had a lot of fun with that. And most chuffed with the bag tags.

Now heavily motivated to find a gig where the client requires me to travel Virgin, so that I can repay the kindness.

Mrs TheMaiz applied two days after I did... has not received a confirmation, nor an upgrade. :( Hmm. She's resubmitting.

Update: she forwarded the original note (to keep record of the original date). She got an immediate auto-response from VA. The clock restarts!

As you have likely read throughout this thread, there are still people waiting that applied well before the Mrs TheMaize (25th and 26th), so not surprising her match has not come through yet despite claims of priority by date and status level :)
I have heard submitting multiple requests will delay your match request further. When 4 weeks is up, then fair game. But let us know how she gets on and if you get a response.
I'm still waiting from the 26th, hoping it will come through soon if not Maybe I'll query it when I'm at the Virgin Village in a few weeks time on business:)

Agreed, but this isn't about priority. I figured that by now her upgrade was likely to have been updated on her account (consistent with the timing reported by many others). The real surprise was when we found no auto-response to the original request. Conclusion: the email was never received. There's no way to know why that would have happened, and I certainly wouldn't point at VA. The re-send tonight did get an auto-response, so hopefully all is well. But... just in case someone says "application too late", we might claim clemency against the original datestamp.

Anyway, the delay is beneficial... it extends the period during which at least one of us has coverage. :!: So no complaints here.
