Mind you, two weeks ago I purchased an AA fare SFO-LAX for USD65 all up so it's not really that impessive.
I'm confused.... what has Virgin America got to do with Velocity or Virgin Blue/V Australia?
The move into Orange County comes as Virgin America is preparing a code sharing alliance with Virgin Atlantic Airways Ltd. and Virgin Blue, giving the domestic carrier global reach for the first time.
Burlingame-based Virgin America said it expects to have a deal in place with Virgin Atlantic, which flies over the Atlantic Ocean, by June. The timing of a deal with Virgin Blue, which plans to fly over the Pacific Ocean, is in flux. The Australian-based airline is unsure when Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) will deliver planes it wants to use on a new route between Sydney and Los Angeles.
So do we know whether V australia took delivery of their first plane on Monday as was expected? The Australian-based airline is unsure when Boeing Co. (NYSE: BA) will deliver planes it wants to use on a new route between Sydney and Los Angeles

From Sunday until June 1, Velocity members who book a flight on Virgin Blue, use any of its partners or transfer credit card points to the frequent flyer scheme will be eligible for a draw to win the 25 million points.
The points can then be converted into a flight on Virgin Blue part-owner Richard Branson's Virgin Galactic.
Velocity general manager Phil Gunter admitted yesterday that the the airline had picked the prize for the huge figure's shock value in raising awareness of the frequent-flyer scheme.
"We think that 25 million is such a big number that it will stand out and it keeps Velocity's position as leader in member benefits," he said.
It's also recognised that 25 million points sitting in an account may not be as attractive as something more tangible, so Velocity had packaged up alternative prizes such as "his and hers" sports cars, holidays and shopping trips.
Big deal! I hope there is more to this "Offer" other than this gimmick....The Australian said:From Sunday until June 1, Velocity members who book a flight on Virgin Blue, use any of its partners or transfer credit card points to the frequent flyer scheme will be eligible for a draw to win the 25 million points.
All this hype and "watch this space" for something special and the best they can offer is 25% bonus points on Amex transfers. It would appear that this promo will underwhelm most AFFers as a 25% bonus was/is pretty much taken for granted.
I'm going to reserve my judgement until after Feb 1.
And somehow I don't think the target of this promo is the typical AFF member, so it probably will be underwhelming for us.
