An untried suggestion, if you have a Krisflyer account (open one if not perhaps), search as Krisflyer on SIA and if not available there then I'd suspect zero chance of being there on VFF.Just wondering if using the Virgin website for a SQ J reward seat is still the real only way to search? Slow and time consuming as it is.
That's what I did you make it quicker to find seats using VFF. Any saver rewards I found on Singapore Airlines site, I was able to find on Virgin site. Waitlist obviously won't show though. An untried suggestion, if you have a Krisflyer account (open one if not perhaps), search as Krisflyer on SIA and if not available there then I'd suspect zero chance of being there on VFF.
Just a thought - interesting to see if it works.
VA don't have the same access to sq award inventory which has always been mostly reserved for kf member redemptions.Has anyone had any success calling the VA Platinum line to make an SQ J reward booking for a seat that does not appear on the VA website but appears on the SQ website?
It seems SQ generally only offer one flight to VA out of MEL per day when there are actually several other flights per day with KrisFlyer reward availability.
Does this mean that the VA call centre can also only see availability up to 330 days for SQ?VA don't have the same access to sq award inventory which has always been mostly reserved for kf member redemptions.
Yes. Another opportunity for kf members to have first dibs.Does this mean that the VA call centre can also only see availability up to 330 days for SQ?
AFF Supporters can remove this and all advertisements
With transfer back next week, we can get in on those first dibs too, but at a bit of a premium I suppose!Yes. Another opportunity for kf members to have first dibs.
Scoot are not FF partners with VA. Only agreement I can see between the two carriers is an interline (baggage) agreement only.I'm locked out of my velocity account right now but can one book Scoot flights with VA redemptions? Thank you
Seems they are replacing some SIA routes with Scoot ones
Looking at the zones, I wonder if you fly from Aus to NZ, would it be via SIN?The *A redemption rates also increased (all of the SQ changes were effective today).

There are rules to prohibit backtracking and past (pre-Covid) experience is that they calculate the distance from end to end and allow a tolerance percentage for the total mileage of all the sectors added together. I managed to get MEL-TAS via IST but was denied doing it via FRA. I'm guessing Australia-NZ would not fall within the tolerance unless, perhaps, you were starting in PER or DRW.Looking at the zones, I wonder if you fly from Aus to NZ, would it be via SIN?
I'm a newbie.
Can you transfer Krisflyer to Velocity?
If Krisflyer business is 236k points, if you booked direct through Velocity...I gather there would be a point adjustable?
I always transferred, buow I wonder if it's safer to keep in Velocity?
Thank you
Appreciate the information. You were able to transfer from KF to VF at the same pre-Covid rate as the other way at 1:55 before the shutdowns.
So I would assume you'd be able to transfer from KF to VF when that re-opens on July 19. The rate however, whether if it remains at the pre-COVID rate or it gets devalued is still unknown.
Sounds like it will be the same old 1.55:1 then, which is decent enough.Looks like the same transfer rate will be reinstated:
