Velocity/Virgin websites are RUBBISH

Tried everything. Cleared cache cookies etc. Wont allow me to make any rewards booking. I find it discouraging. Dont understand why the same page does allow me to book non-reward tickets.

Frustrating. Sorry.

Doesn't appear so - as many reporting here are different levels. Mine was "re-booted" (my technical term ;D) after I rang the Plat line and the CSA tried to log into my account and couldn't - she referred to IT and they performed some miracle in the background which fixed the problem. Touch wood, no problems since.

It would seem a pity they don't work the same miracle across the board!

This is appearing to be VAs modus operandi........only fix problems piece meal when they are complained about.......a bit like the many loyal VFF members who cannot get an email from them. When I complained, VFF said, and I quote "send me your details and we'll fix it"! Why not just "fix" everyones rather than just those who complain? cough attitude brought about by a cough system. As VA apparantly have no coin left in the piggy bank, I doubt it's likely to change anytime soon.

Soooooooooooooooooooooooooooo..

Who likes the new homepage for the website now???

Pictures are rather large... But I like..

Nice refresh on the home page, quick look at it from my iPhone... But is that it??
I'll see how sign-in is for me when I get home

Looks better but ultimately a useless update.

The IBE, Online checkin and Velocity sites are still to be integrated into the main site.

I've never had so much difficulty in using an airline's website than I have with Virgin's. Just being able to book at time becomes an impossible task with all of the freezing, timing out etc.

Can they just sack the entire Virgin web team and be done with it? Seriously, they're just not up to the task.

So after being challenged 3 times for my VFF number and a valid VA booking ref - here is what the VA web site tells me about my own confirmed booking early next week.....

VA_Fail_05Dec.jpg

Just before crashing my browser by the way.

Now I haven't been able to see or manage my non-IBE flights since Jan 2013 with the old #000354 error being my freind - still appearing. And on the screen shot above I cannot select or make changes to the booking, or select a seat, or view the VA flight details.

I can do all of these things (except for the seat selection) with one login and a few clicks on Tripcase, so why not on the VA web site? Tripcase can also tell me the flight numbers, departure times, confirmed eticket number and aircraft type..... you know the little details that may be helpful

According to the VFF rep there was supposed to be an upgrade of the VA site in Dec 2013 (planned since Sept 2013) - seems like a few different graphics but no useability for me it seems!

Trivial I know, but why does the 'Show More' button always look like that? I'm guessing the semi-circle at the end is supposed to be 'greyed out' too but that's just all too hard! LOL.

Yes - thats exactly how I see it as well, I thought it may have been just my browser! By the way - it still insists on launching a brand new browser window if you are silly enough to want to see your own details and point balances, before hanging this new browser window open but with no content, presumably because its trying to challenge you for your Velocity login and password and realizing that you are already logged in, and also then timing out your previous browser session as well.......

More detailed list of problems going back to Jan 2013 listed here:

I.T. might be one of the departs QF puts the razor through ..... Might be some airline I.T. talent on the market before long

Some of it already outsourced on the QF side of IT/Web Site design, and probably similar to VA IT & Web team which would be partly outsourced. Judging by the poor upgrades and inept execution of both the new VA and QF web sites it may be possible that some of this work may have been done by the same people!!

Whatever the case - seems to be a competition on whom can build the least user-freindly and less reliable web site - so far VA is winning this competition but the QF IT guys are giving them a run for their money! :)

I've been having problems printing out my boarding pass after I check-in online. In fact, it took me several attempts to even check-in online!! I really do not like the VA website...

serfty - I took your comments on board and now don't do OLCI until I am leaving for the airport ;)

IainF was bemoaning the problems he is having with MrsF's bookings at the moment. Glad that I haven't needed to book - he says whilst researching a flight to NZ in early Feb (I almost want QF to be the cheapest)

Update from trying today - as we know all non IBE Corporate Travel agent bookings still not able to be located and managed online, but I did find that web based online check-in does now work at (T-12hrs approx) for non-IBE Corporate Travel Agents bookings and seats can now be selected at the OLCI stage (have not tried mobile checkin yet). The web based OLCI still requires numerous login attempts and also "times out" fairly quickly, the actual seat selection for B737 and E190 Y class seems to work but is still very "borky" and seems to randomly forget or remember your selected seat and tells you that the seat you have selected is now occupied by someone-else.

Not sure if it was just bad luck or that someone else really wanted 23C as much as me in the 2 mins I was logged in and selecting a seat for that particular flight.....

I also noticed that as a fairly new and novice VA Gold (and for reasons above not previously able to do OLCI on VA domestic flights) that I was able to see and select Row 3 seats on B738 flights - I ended up changing to somewhere else but is that typical and/or common for VA B738 Golds on VA Saver fares? I thought I read a thread somewhere that possibly Row 3 Y on B738s were usually only available to VA Plats?

Once OLCI opens I think they're open to anyone.
